Didn't Toyworld just change their name to (suppressed laughter) Tactics Waistcoat?

The inside of the tail is specifically designed to only be attached to the right fist with the tail upside down.

You're supposed to push the legs into the body at the knees.

But damn. Your figure is even worse than mine. I Futured the diecast tail end and put naipolish on the shoulder balljoints.

Tail: Ok I missed that. But doing that requires the same amount of force to get pegged in.

Knees: Wait. There literally no room for that. Also the diecast connector is screwed in and doesn't slide up and down in the thighs.

DAMN!: Yeah. I've had several folks on twitter say that theirs are in even worse shape. One guy even got a figure that was snapped in half at the waist.

Well, it isn't that big a deal. What I do is I bend the knee and push the upper legs more into the T-rex body. But it doesn't make much difference.

But this figure is definitely not Toyworld's greatest. If you have a copy that does what it's supposed to it's really nice, but it seems there are a ton of QC issues around for this figure.
The hips on my copy are also really floppy, but there's not much I can see that I can do about that. He stands okay in bot mode if I manage to balance him and the weight is distributed in such a way in T-rex mode that the floppy hips don't affect balance in that mode.

As of right now mine is fine other than the loose right hip joint I mentioned before, even after transforming him.

Maybe the toy version had better QC?

The sword is just a recolor from the "Grimlock" version of this bot. They have a weathered "grimlock" I was thinking about ordering till I saw your video. Yikes!

Yeah they're both out, but all the reviews I've seen are the Toon versions.

    Here's mine...

I see. He's got the gold instead of the bronze.
That's true. It's the first time I've seen pictures of this version apart from the promo shots.
It's actually a really nice figure apart from the lack of paint where it should be if you got a good version.
I managed to get him serviceable now, but I raised my eyebrows when I noticed the very loose shoulders and tail-end.
But man, Balmatrix opened my eyes to how the bad the QC can get with this guy. Those are some horror stories.

Yeah, those QC issues suck, because this guy really is a nice looking figure.

    Ah well.

So I got my Takara colors version in. He's pretty much the exact color shades as the original takara toy. They probably should have added some more paint detail on him. His shin pistons aren't painted like in the promo shots, and there are several points where the original toy actually surpasses it in detail. Joints seemed a little bit tighter on this guy than they were on the Grimlock version I got last month, which is good. Also, the head sculpts look much better in person than having huge macro shots of a 1 cm tall head. For the scale, they're pretty nice.

I still like the grimlock version more. The extra paint apps on Grimlock give it a lot more character. Breaks up the monotony a little better. Grimlock's shoulder pad vents just look so much better because of the paint on them giving them a more 3d look. I don't know if it's just because it's gray or more metallic, but the light hits the thing in a way that gives all his features more depth than Megatron's colors. He's a bit bland.

That said, I still love this thing. He's tiny and hefty and a great addition to the shelf.

Also for anyone having trouble getting the tail to stay on his hand, the tail seems like it was actually designed to go on his left hand. It pops on that hand easily on both of my toys. So if you want it to pop on the right hand turn the hand 180 degrees and it will fit right in there nice and snug.

^He's a decent figure, the T-Rex mode is cool. I would probably like him more if I had any attachment to the fiction, but alas, I do not.

Yeah I think I'm going to have to buy this guy after all to go with my IF Primal. After Heatdeath crumbled at the hip months ago and ShowZ being difficult to get a replacement part (been trying since mid August). Shame as I really liked Heatdeath, but never even got to transform him.

So is this guy really that bad? I mean have they fixed the QC issues on the later batches?
