If it is Bumblebee 2 I wonder if Travis Knight will come back.

He certainly expressed interest in making a sequel to bumblebee so I wouldn’t be surprised if Hasbro called him back for it.

So with the new live action release date, where does it leave this one?

Optimus Prime was barely in Bumblebee, and Megatron wasn't there at all. So as long as the aesthetic is relatively consistent and Bumblebee isn't gratuitously murdered on screen, the movie could easily be folded into Bumblebee canon retroactively if they want to.

Unless it's a 15 minute short film about Orion Pax and Megatron touring a dock together, I don't think G1 fans will feel very strongly about anything they do.

I'm really happy they decided to reboot the franchise. I never thought the day would come where we get a Beast Wars movie!

I'll believe it when I see either the trailer or a teaser for the trailer, and not a minute before.

I feel like it's going to be studio series. I believe the studio series are film only and most likely includes bayverse and non bayverse films

I wonder if Beast Wars was already going to be part of Bays hypothetical TF6 along side Unicron? Maybe their gonna take that script and turn it into another soft reboot ala Age of Extinction.

They recently made Optimus Primal and Cheetor guardians of ancient relics. I think Primal guarded the Requiem Blaster in Prime Wars Trilogy, while Cheetor was Guardian of The Allspark in Cyberverse, perhaps they could have similar roles as guardians of something that could stop Unicron.

To me that sounds like they aren't completely sure what direction they are going in with this and it's still up in the air.

I'm taking a guess of something new. The new leadership at the studio seems to want to put their own stamp on things so we are seeing reboots of things like GI Joe.

Although Bumblebee was a bit of an odd duck because they tried to have it both ways. If we didn't like Bumblebee they were going to throw the old Paramount under the bus. But if we loved Bumblebee new Paramount was willing to take all the credit. Box office is a bit hard to guess on how happy new Paramount was. The domestic $127 million was kind of disappointing but the international $341 million wasn't bad.

Who do we think is gonna direct the 2022 movie? I think its a toss up between Knight and Bay.

If you think Bay is even in the running, you're sorely mistaken. He's got a thing going with Sony right now and I bet he wants nothing to do with the franchise anymore - dude tried to get out of directing it twice and had to be bribed with literally millions of dollars to do it.

Millions that Paramount doesn't have this time around. And he already made his passion project so they can't have that on the table either, unlike what I think was involved in convincing him to do AoE (Pain and Gain).
