A lot of us don't like it but are still getting it because this is close to the very end of our collections. I'm sure FT's will keep making figures but for me and many, there are just a few we really need a nice version of to say we're there, everything else is optional...and this is one of them.

I'm still basically at the start of my collecting so for me everyone buying stuff at any cost sucks. Raising prices for future collectors :(

Even so, until someone buys it for that price, it's baseless and lacks evidence of demand at that price.
Okay thanks, so it's officially crazytown pricing. Good to know :)

Damn. Looks like an FT Phoenix box just sold for $61 plus shipping too. Mine are just sitting in storage under the stairs in the basement...

So you're part of the problem then. There are better, less pathetic ways of making money than to get in the way of people buying things they want just so you can prey on their desperation later.

So weird. I keep all my boxes for no real reason I can think of except that my figures feel less complete and less valuable without them - which is dumb because I don't give a damn about their value beyond their value to me on my shelf. Maybe I should sell the boxes off - my wife has been complaining that our storage room is overrun with them, and I have to admit that, if we ever decide to move, packing up all those boxes is going to take almost as much room as everything else we own.

Yep, i just started to do it.
That's why my second Maverick came.
I'll be selling him when he hits 500. hahaha

Other figures from FT i have 1 of them from the ones i want.
I still want a normal Soar, because i have the X version.
And the rest of the dino's in X version to. :D
Didn't really want the headmasters, so i missed Lupus.
Also didn't want anything else when i started except for the dino's and Prime and Bee.
So i missed the insects, spotter, Perceptor ( thank god v2 is coming ) and lots of other bots like s3 autobots.

    These are my FT figures.

I usually keep 3p boxes if they actually have artwork on them. If its something like a boring cardboard box I just chuck it into recycling.

I pitch almost everything except TT, FT, and newage. TT and Newage because I just love their look and FT due to value of the bots. Going to think pretty hard about my Stomp box now. $100 for a piece of cardboard and styrofoam is kind of hard to look past...

I keep all of my MP boxes, even the KOs. I used to move a lot and I always found the original boxes to be the best way to pack up my figures so they don't get damaged during moving. But we're pretty stable now and, even if we did decide to move, those boxes would take up so much space that it doesn't seem worth it anymore. Not when I can just wrap them in tissue and stuff a bunch of them in a single box of styrofoam peanuts.

I think it's dumb to pay for boxes but, if I decide to get rid of them anyway, I may as well see if anybody wants to buy them. I definitely wouldn't charge $150 for a box though. Maybe $40 or $50 at most - enough to make it worth the time and effort of listing, packing, and shipping them. I'd make sure the listings were super clear though. "BOX ONLY" in all caps at the beginning and end of the title and again in the description.

I bought a 1950 small house and have no room for boxes now. When we moved I wrapped each bot in t-shirts and put them in totes. Nothing was damaged thankfully. A friend of mine was scammed on ebay. Was just a box. Looked sealed and description said "comes with everything you see here."

You can call it what you want, but if I have supply of something I don't need and there is demand for that supply...then why not? I have a wife and kids, I have a mortgage, and I have a completely unnecessary hobby that brings me some joy and satisfaction. I feel I kind of owe it to myself and my family to help pay for this hobby outside of my salary if possible. So, if I can make a $100 on a box collecting dust...I'm probably going to check it out.

Sometimes if the boxes are cool enough I display them too, I usually do that with my 1:6 scale stuff and some KFC/ GT / TFM boxes.

I don't own anything from DX9, but their boxes are worth displaying.

I'm sure that a lot of people who jump in and buy the 'box only' stuff off of ebay kind of screwed themselves by just seeing the picture, and not really reading the description. Their excitement caused them to overlook the small print that says, box only.

And once they realize their mistake after the fact, embarrassment and regret seeps in. It's like those sales ads and coupons in grocery/department stores. People get all happy about getting something, but then the check out clerk points out that it's not valid due to the easy to miss fine details printed on the coupon, haha.

Ebay used to ban the practice of sellers that try to sell empty boxes of things, like game consoles, gadgets, jewelry. Because it can be misleading to a lot of buyers. And probably a lot of people want to buy the legit packaging, to help them sell their own counterfeit items by combining the two together.
Ebay has since reversed the ban a few years ago.

Having bought 2 of their Stunticons, can confirm, I display their boxes. Hope their artist gets paid well, cause he (or she) knows how to make boxes.
