Care little for the scale chart since it is not entirely correct to begin with. Also Fort Max used to be the biggest toy in existence with transformers G1. That translated to the idea that he indeed is so much bigger than anything. Metroplex and Trypticon are also often depicted as oversized bots, like the set of episodes with Octane where Trypt is walking around with buildings he stole.
As for Fort Max he was the autobot city in the 3 parter.

It always seemed mismatched that Scorponoks toy was so small compared to Fort Max.
I will not go into fights with people on scales so I'll just leave it at these remarks.

It says in Japanese that Fortress Maximus is 3 times as tall as Metroplex.

That may be relevant to the Japanese continuity but not neccessarily to the US G1 1984 animation continuity.

Really hoping Inferno is 1 of the yet to be revealed EarthRise voyagers. Had G2 Inferno in the 90's and it was awesome realizing that Grapple's entire silhouette is pretty close to the G1 toy(while using a largely cartoon color palette). The hybrid aesthetic leads me to believe it's another Hasui design. Doesn't feel right to have Grapple but not Inferno.

Metroplex and Fort Max are shown side by side in base modes in Headmasters, and Fort Max dwarfs him. And there's that promotional materials from the 80s.

I don't know why people debate this still. Metroplex is obviously a base while Fort Max is city, regardless of what people interpret from their names.

If there's anything incorrect, it's the episodes depicting them differently. They're the official scale characters from the show bibles from which the animators are supposed to base everything off.

You just proved the points of myself and others, that's the Japanese continuity NOT the US continuity, 2 completely different things

Is there any more info on Arcee Earthrise, or has she been released yet? I saw a Scorponok review and I just assumed she was released already too but can't find any review...

thanks! i figured it'd say something like that.

yes, the japanese text clued me in to that.
idk what continuity the first guy was talking about but in the jg1 'toon continuity fortmax is bigger than metroplex, you asked for something that proved who was bigger and i gave what i found that may support the other guys claim, as far as i know in the us continuities fortmax is smaller or similarly sized

NemesisAngel's comment was that Scorponok was smaller than Fort Max and Metroplex figures which is a no go for them cuz of scale when those two figures are not suppose to be the same size. You can't complain about scale when your examples aren't scaled correctly.

And yet youre the type of person that would buy a 3rd party figure based off another companies IP. a little double standard there? Just my 2 cents.

Back on topic. Scorponok looks great. Just a smidge shorter than fortmax but he was way shorter when comparing the g1 toys.

In the fact that, Scorponok is just smaller like Optimus Prime in IDW 2005 as well as G1 Marvel.

Beyond the titans combiners which sit in the correct scale to earthrise and siege,(cw combiners too short), along with omega supreme; there is no way Trypticon, Metroplex, Fortress Maximus and Scorponok will ever scale in the current toyline.

Much beyond the current titan size and more importantly they lose all playability and scalability on costs. Look at unicron, that needs a stand to support the poses.

Fans Toys 4 foot tall fort max will only just about scale with the 3rd / 4th party legends scale series.

It's been confirmed via multiple sources and interviews that Unicron can pose without the stand, John Warden and Brian Montana have also stated this.

I dont think many people are wanting Titans in scale to other figures, only to each other, in order to scale with the whole line, they'd each have to be around 6ft tall

Irrelevant. They still use the same scale charts from the story bibles. But hey, here's more evidence. Metroplex is only a part of Autobot City. Fortress Maximus was built from the remains of the Hive's old city.

Part of a city > A whole city

Fortress Maximus is likely as big as the most of the city is in this picture.

I kinda wish they'd show off their designs as renders and ask for feedback before making them as there is a pretty long list of things about that Scorponok that could have done with being improved before going to final. For example making the shoulder guns more articulated would be useful in all modes.

    ----

I'm glad The Decepticon Clones are getting a resissue - but why not the Autobot ones as well ?

    Wow, Scorponok looks great!
I just may have to grab one. First mainline purchase in some time. Let's hope that QC is in point.
