No offense, but it's also really frustrating that Aaron's response is to basically tell people "It doesn't matter if what you'd like to be made isn't being made, if it's not by Hasbro it's wrong!" Hasbro/Takara's been utterly terrible at giving anything else a chance despite the clear indications from fans. If third parties are the only things that are going to answer that, then so be it. I'm happier knowing that someone at all might give me new takes on my favorite characters rather than skimming through the years hoping Hasbro will release these characters.

It feels outright silly to lash at these so much when you know no official avenue will likely ever be as willing to touch on different eras and designs again. And I say that as someone who doesn't want a Masterpiece-alike, anyway, if shopping for a new Galaxy Convoy.

Yup this is still on the list. Glad too see its still happening. I thought it was gonna be like Maketoys and fade into obscurity.

And it will STILL come out this year given recent events? I tip my hat to these people.

Just remarking on the hilarity of arguing legality versus reality.

You know what I've noticed? Cybertron Optimus arbitrarily has blue thumbs, while all of his fingers are black. Obviously this is because the fingers are a separate part cast in a different color on the original toy, but surprisingly, even the anime kept the blue thumbs. I dunno if I like that.

Yo @Aaron Archer, what do you think? Did you want Cybertron OP's thumbs to be black to match his fingers, sort of like fingerless gloves? Or do you like the blue thumbs better?

I know. It's so hilarious that one of the guys who made the original toy can have the nerve to state how unexcited he is to see it essentially "knocked off" in to a third-party toy. Hilarious that he has the nerve to come here and say "I get it, but it still sucks to me", and have a bunch of people try to explain why his opinion is wrong.

    The hilarity of it all!

Anyhow - time to move on from this conversation as Aaron doesn't need anyone to speak for him. If Aaron replies to someone - cool have at it. Otherwise, this part of the convo is over and any future replies will be removed.

Mold plans, feature gimmick, and plastic tolerances can make for funny situations, like Blue thumbs. no big plan on that on

@Aaron Archer: The man, the Legend!

It\'s an honor to see you posting on the boards again!

Also fully agree that most 3rd party stuff are overpriced and complex, IP thieving products.

Unfortunately, 3rd party companies make stuff thats impossible for official HasTak to remake due to John Warden and his team\'s lop sided vision of G1 = the best thing in the world. Hence the sole focus of the recent Siege and Earthrise stuff on G1 centric characters.

Cybertron/ Galaxy Convoy was a great design and concept for its time, and I personally want to thank you for your original efforts way back.

This figure looks pretty great! Always been a fan of the Cybertron Optimus Prime design.

Just wanted to chime in and say it's so cool to see you back on these boards! I had a lot of fun collecting the AEC figures during my late teens. Some really cool and unique designs in there! Also remember it being such a privilege to have a place like Orson's World.

Hope to see you around the boards more! Do you buy any of the current Transformers offerings yourself?

    my few thoughts.

Galaxy force optimus prime is easily a top 5 fav prime of mine
Siege "Galaxy prime" is a disgrace to the original and all primes created. JMO
If its built well I am I'm on it. no matter who you are if your trash i'm passing

Respect to @Aaron Archer. Even though there may be disagreement, OG Arch deserves some respect put on his name.

Actually I'm very excited for this Galaxy Convoy. I have stopped collecting awhile but whne watching this series during it debuts, it firr back my passion.

I had the Takara / Vietnam version of the OP and some of the cast. This is the one and only one mold that I could remember where the toy design and transformation is 100% true to their CGI

I'm looking forward for them to release Wing Saber and Ligerjack

No, no, no, not for its time, it is timeless. I don't have a favorite Optimus Prime design, and my favorite series is Armada so understand I'm not biased when I say in my objective opinion, Cybertron Optimus is the best Optimus Prime design. Ever.

cybertron optimus probably had the most thought put into it's various gimmicks, armada prime might be close from what i've seen though i've never owed that one as much as i'd like to

It must feel really good for the people working on this to see it being complemented by the guy who designed the original. Which is, in my opinion, one of the best Transformers toys ever made.

It's also very vindicating to see someone who used to design Hasbro transformers put Hasbro on blast for too much G1 like I do every third day.

Something Something about Archers position changing in regards to Third Party products depending on who he's employed by. Hasbro Archer: "These are awful and I hate them." PWTTOO Archer: "Well, if someone is putting out an inferior product someone will step in to make a superior one."

I am loving how this design is shaping up. I have the original release, the black and red variant, and the Siege retool of UM. I'm ready for another iteration of Cybertron/Galaxy OP.

It's cool that Aaron Archer has chimed in. It's too bad that he feels that he and Eric have been stolen from.

Actually, the THS-01 Hybrid Style Legends Class Galaxy Convoy figure is still pretty rad if you ask me. If only Takara would have scaled it to Leader Class size... what a wasted opportunity.

Oh, good point! I missed out on that figure. By the time I had come around to being educated enough in my TF collecting, the Hybrid Style figures were on the secondary market at inflated prices.
