Is that the Galaxy Upgrade smaller bot head? How'd you get it to fit? I tried swapping that head onto mine but the socket was a little too small and was too far into the head so it basically had no neck.

Ugh. Why does this fandom, among others, always got to degenerate into "console wars"? Complaining that they keep making toys of the recognizable same characters is like getting mad they keep making Spider-Man toys or Mario games.

I always felt from the waist up Tidal Wave was perfect, but seeing all these points? Yeah, he needs an update. NOT that IDW shoe-horned whale version mind you - Dark Fleet all the way.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with Tidal Wave beyond his lack of knees (and a rotating head would be nice, but that's minor), and a thigh rotation would have 'kinda' fixed the knees. I actually liked the color (of the Armada version, not so much Energon).

But otherwise Tidal Wave was awesome, and that's high praise from a HUGE hater of most things Armada. TW was incredible in all three modes.

His 'spaceship' mode was a genuinely great ship mode despite clearly being made up of naval vessels, superior to most TF spaceships by a wide margin, and all the cool gimmicks (which were utter failures in nearly all other Armada toys) that were present in the separate boat modes are accessible in this. And the aspect that excites me most of this mode is that because of it he doesn't *need* to be a triocon (you know, duocon that separates into 3 alt modes) - the fact that TR Overlord can't have a unified alt mode just irritates me.

The naval fleet mode is really great, each ship is reasonably large and has great interaction with minicons or and small figures that can bend knees. The Ramjet minicon's interactivity is impressive.

The robot mode is tremendous as well, apart from the aforementioned knees and head, it had reasonably good articulation (extremely rare for Armada), and stood a towering 28cm in height. To this day I'm amazed the retail price of this toy was only $20.

So yes, I suppose my preferences lean toward G1, and I hate Armada more than any other TF era, but I'd love to see a Commander class Tidal Wave. Hell, now that I'm pondering TW at Titan size, I may actually prefer that. But I'd genuinely prefer the look and transformation to be as close to the original as possible, just with better articulation.

But Fort Max and Metroplex aren't supposed to be the same size.

Yeah, nothing is affected that way. I don't think I even had to mod much, if anyway but it's been a while.

There's already been plenty of discussion in the rant thread about how people want more variety in Generations.
Which is a completely valid stance to have.
No need to start it up here.

    But, that would be why.
Some of us are just bored of the constant "G1 but with knees" every year and want new and different stuff.
It's that very reason I'm getting the Modulators. They're new.

By standards going to G1 Fort Max and Scorponok should dwarf Metroplex and Trypticon. And then they should dwarf Omega... And I'm not seeing that, so your comment that they are not supposed to be the same size is moot.

I think there is plenty of variety if you know where to look for it? Having Cog, Brunt, Sixshot and Fasttrack sure is great, then getting figures like Ironworks. That is plenty "renewed" and "re-envisioned" G1. New stuff for fans.

I just dislike things like Netflix repaint Hound and Scrap, to scrape the barrel of G1 to have people buy another and another and another of the same mold with barely anything new to it. I really have to see the new Netflix show to see if Scrap boy is worth getting. But to me it seems like a cheap trick to add figure 7,8,9 of the same to your collection. To have just a different color camera. And that is annoying to me.

As far as Scorpy goes, he looks good, good enough to get. But I still don't have an Omega and feel like I should get him first. Since I do not have any other Titan Autobot. And flooding the shelf with another Decepticon Since I got Trypt and Predaking. Feels like a bit too much. I do want him though and after I got an Omega I will get him.
Siege/Earthrise has not disappointed me. Jetfire is awesome, I got him for a reduced price but I got lucky on QC by a mile. I have none of the issues anyone mentioned. As for the deluxes only Clifjumper is meh and I do not have him. Not due to his size but the lack of G1 resemblance. No insignia on the chest, no spoiler, wrong color of the arms. The Partsforming I care less.

And that is it for the rant so far.

Do you have any scales that support that? And what continuity would you be referring to? In terms if the cartoon, they've not really been seen together so we'd have to go by scales, these are all I could find 20200501_160221.jpg 20200430_160625.jpg 20200501_083751.jpg

I keep saying, don't think of the Netflix line like that, it's more, overall, there for the folks that didn't get Siege or are new coming in because of the show when it premieres. (Since Siege will have been off shelf - in general, I know some can still be found - for 6 months by the time the show hits. It's solving a problem they had with the Prime Wars trilogy where the shows were coming out like a year or more after the characters in them had left store shelves. It's basically just a store-exclusive premium-deco reissue line, much like the 35th line last year. Doesn't take away from anything else, Target is still getting awesome Earthrise exclusives (and I imagine Amazon will too) And we still haven't seen this years Selects offerings besides the tapes.

I agree man. I mean, I'm happy that we got a new Fort Max at all because at the time he was only the 2nd Titan class figure and I really wasn't sure we'd ever get any more, but now that they're doing Titans every year it does bum me out a bit that Fort Max is the only one who didn't get his own unique mold. Especially since he's my favorite of the OG big TF's.

"The designers at takara tomy were able to work with different types of molding techniques to maximize the scale of this thing"

Is not the same thing as:

As I suggested earlier, Scorponok's dual guns look like they could utilise the 5mm ports on his hands/claws for 'hand-held/claw-held' weaponry.
Wouldn't surprise if something similar could be done in base mode.
It might not be canon, but at least it would be (ahem) cannon!
