Really hoping this turns out to be a prequel to the Bumblebee continuity. I would rather Paramount/Hasbro create a solid foundation for Transformers movies going forward, before they branch out into separate timelines and spinoffs.

I enjoyed Toy Story 4 very much, so I'm happy with Cooley's involvement here!

 

Let’s hope the designers working on this film are more creative with the designs than Hasbro was with Siege.

The Cybertron setting, and the exploration of Optimus and Megatron's relationship has 100% of my attention. Also, rather interesting that they call it a prequel even though it’s supposedly not connected to the Bay films or Bumblebee. It’d be cool if Hasbro did an animated Transformers universe, too.

 

Concerned either way. Prequels are typically a bad idea, especially when you only have one movie so far.

 

At this point I feel that Hasbro thinks the idea of a "cinematic universe" for Transformers is trashed. Just like what happened to DCCU. They're spiritually related being part of the DC universe but each hero is having their own self contained stories, self contained universes. Warner isn't really sticking with the idea of the DCCU anymore.

Hasbro's probably going back to just seeing what works and going from there. Hey, if it isn't Bay, I'll definitely give it a shot!

Step 1: Say it’s a new continuity
Step 2: After mass panic, claim it’s in the Knightverse
Step 3: Have it secretly really be in the Bayverse
Step 4: Have the public rejoice and praise the film
Step: Make TF 6

By how this is worded, it might indicate Hasbro’s plan to start completely fresh instead of going with the soft reboot. This prequel will serve as a basis for a new continuity?

Can you imagine if they take after Spider-Verse? Try to give it as much heart as they can. Make the fall of Megatron and the disintegration of the brotherly relationship of Optimus and Megatron the heart of the film, and its filled with dramatic character moments in a new animation style that pushes what we've seen about Transformers to the limits. Like it or not, Toy Story 4 had some good emotional parts and was overall a fun adventure. I think we're in good hands.

 

I dunno... none of this excites me.

Okay, I just read the front page lol. Not only is it a prequel, but it focuses on the most played out and least exciting aspect of the franchise.

You seem pretty hung up on the word “prequel.” It just means “before earth.” No connection to any other movies.

 

As long as it has NOTHING to do with the Bay movies I\'m happy.
