Beast Wars effectively had 1 US/CA animated series/storytelling (BW and BM) while essentially everything else was G1, a G1 reimagining etc

The deck was stacked against BW from the beginning and they haven't gone back.

We get a few BW characters here and there, I think we will get more but that's in addition to G1 and characters from other eras.

I wont believe in a Cinematic BW movie until an explicit and official statement comes out from Hasbro and or the studio. If a BW movie happens and is successful, more successful than BB, than we may see a resurgence leading to a new BW cartoon which then could theoretically lead to a new BW specific line in addition to SS and a Gen Trilogy etc. FB_IMG_1584657611811.jpg

I would absolutely love to see UT get its own three part toy line but for the sake of the Beast Wars fans I'd like to see BW get a generations line.

While I am personally here for the G1, Hasbro are running out of characters to update. For example we have Voyager Seekers in tetrajet *and* F15-ish modes - not always easy to collect them all, but they do exist. There's something for every geewunner right there, and I doubt many of us will feel the need to replace them.

We're getting "good enough" versions of so many classic characters that it almost feels like the decks are being cleared to serve people whose nostalgic frame is slightly more recent (Beast Wars, UT et al).

If the next storyline is yet another G1 rehash I doubt I'll buy many; I won't need to. If it's Beast Wars or UT I won't buy many either, because I won't want to :)  If there is any further money to be made out of adult collectors, surely it's beyond G1?

If Hasbro actually wants to invest in a Beast Wars movie they really could produce a successful family movie that focuses on the characters and has a great story. Just look at the recent Jungle Book movie. It could be really great.

I'd really like to see Hasbro put full effort into a quality show + toyline again, the way Animated and Prime were handled. Cyberverse is so frivolous, and obviously you need toys on the shelves aimed at younger kids, but there are better ways to go about it than RID and Cyberverse have. So, once this is over with (and these Netflix shows, which only seem like a modest step up from the Prime Wars Machinima series, wrap up), I would like to see something like what I've described as the "main" line.

Of course, Generations has always been able to coexist with the main line. To that end, knowing Studio Series has another year or two left to finish the remaining cast, I would like to see the Generations toyline hearken back to the Universe 2.0 / first Generations toyline from 2008-2013. No over-arching theme, no gimmicks, just pulling various well-liked characters from various media and iterations of the franchise and giving them nice new figures. Back in those lines you had inspiration from the comics, from G1, from the video games, Beast Wars, Armada... I think a neat approach would be just to put out quality figures of characters people want to see, and you'll get those niche characters in there (from late G1 / Japanese series, etc.), along with some of the other updates people have been asking for, without being totally devoted to one period of time or gimmick or aesthetic.

So that's my answer. Enough with the G1 re-do's. Give us a quality NEW series and then have Generations be an ongoing catch-all quality line the way it used to be.

i think Hasbro should do with Transformers what they do with Power Rangers Lightning Collection. Bring back straight generations (like Thrillin 30) and have a few from G1, a few from RID a few from Beast Wars, a few from UT. You get the idea. Yes, G1 is my favorite and it is the most iconic, but I like other continuities as well. I'd love a RID Landfill that is the same size as POTP Abominus. I'd love a good small deluxe (like CHUG Rattrap or ER Cliffjumper) BW Airrazor. I love the character of Airachnid but her figure is one of the worst figures ever, give me a good Airachnid. I think I'm the only person in the world who really wants a voyager G2 Jhiaxus. But of course, a few G1 is fine. Even half G1 would be fine. I still want a leader Rodimus Prime using the same formula as ER Optimus, a voyager with stuff.

I gotta be honest. If more UT/BW characters are inserted into the G1 Generations line, I don't think they'll get the justice their fans deserve. Considering that Galaxy "Upgrade" Optimus Prime is literally a styalized G1 Optimus Prime cosplaying as Cybertron Optimus Prime and all. Since the line's 1:35 roughly, Beast Wars characters will be either grossly undersized to really detail them out(at scale) or be reimagined as sized like their Autobot & Decepticon ancestors, but styalized beyond accuracy, as "real" animal mode disguises wouldn't be needed at that size.

Unicron Trilogy and Beast Wars need their own lines to be true to the original characters. The UT characters can mostly make due with the original molds tricked out with actual joints, but the Beast Wars line needs to re rescaled to about 1:18, roughly the scale of the old GI Joe line, or about ½ the scale of the G1 Generations line.

By be true to the original character, you mean that you want the exact same characters from BW just with modern engineering but at near equal sizes as the old figures and or BW on screen show size?

I didn't say I want anything in that post. I was explaining what I think Hasbro would do vs what I think the fans deserve.

That actually sounds like a very great idea, if Hasbro still wants an ongoing plot for its Generations line, they could make a Universe Wars line, kind of like Spiderverse or Crisis on Infinite Earths, where different characters from different universes clash, that way you can have updatet figures from a lot of characters from the multiverse

I really hope we get a toyline based off the comics.

I'm expecting the next line to be "Earth-fall", with Optimus, Starscream and Megatron in the 1st wave.

    My biggest thing is:

A BW movie is present day Earth...

Or it's handled as an explicitly Mad Max setting...

Or it's an animated Spider-Verse type thing.

I tend to favor the latter.

But it's going to be asking the question:

    "Where are the humans?"

    or

    "Where are the other Transformers?"

And either question is likely to be a key part of the movie. The original hinged on a desire to reinvent a flagging brand and avoid anything difficult to animate. A movie is going to capitalize on a largely familiar brand and try to wow us with what it animates.

I think it's likely to be a cross between new Jumanji and Crystal Skull in terms of the vibe.

Unless they go all Spider-Verse and make it a funny/dramatic animated mashup of TF continuities.

If Hasbro are keen to keep something akin to what is currently the Micromasters price-point in action instead of a return to a Legends price-point, the UT could be in the box seat post-WFC with its wealth of Mini-Cons.

Also, this seemed like a good place to share this:

I am having Generation 1 fatigue to be honest. Ever since the Hasbro, and TakaraTOMY brand unification, I have only been purchasing to fill up gaps in my collection. I had skipped over all the re-remake toys; as much as I love Earthrise toys, they were released 14 years too late.

Only a Victory Saber toy could spark my interest right now. Seeing as we already got every Japanese G1 Autobot Leader except for Victory Saber.

Otherwise, please just do Beast Wars. After all, Beast Wars is an essential part of the G1 story.

Whether it's Beast Wars, G2, or something else, whatever come next has to be something new. I don't see the point in doing 84/85 again after how well they were done in WFC.

Maybe they can make an animated kids show that combines the Bumble Bee movies with the Bay-verse. That way Hastak can get another ten years out of the Studio Series and Mpm molds.

The reason why I agree is because Japanese G1 and G2 are not clamored for as much and as loudly as BW, Animated etc. And so, if Hasbro focuses on BW first they may move on after that and the window for getting updates for late G1 and original G2 characters might close forever.
Not that a mix of BW and G2 wouldn't be ideal.

Alright, this will be weird.....sprinkle in smol G1 as homages if needed.

    Part 1: Armada , G2 and G1-ified movieverse focused.

Part 2: Energon, BW and Animated focused

Part 3: Cybertron, Beast Machines and SG focused.

The overall theme of the toyline arc is parallel takes between multiple timelines and universes. Think "into the spiderverse" but transformers.
