I can't remember if it was on Youtube, but I remember some guy going on a podcast or interview and gave some long rant about 3P, and how all 500 companies are basically really just like 4 companies, and everything was basically done in near/same facilities as some Hasbro/Takara products and they all knew what was going on.

I wouldn't be surprised if some 3p companies were paying under-the-table 'tribute' to Hasbro, in order to stay safe

No joke if they release another line with Glacialord style combiners with decent pricing and modern articulation I would buy it. I thought nothing of Glacialord when he came out but after picking him up on discount he's one of my favorite combiners I own.

How about the cover for MTMTE #18 featuring not 1, not 2, but 3 third party figure designs?

Oh yeah, and there was that Roller waaaay back that was compatible with classics, movie 1, and MP Prime.

    Ugh, you want details?
I'm sorry but I can't remember that well. I think it was in a slideshow presentation for a con or a report for the investors.
I think it was Constructor who was held by a father and son in a picture.

I think Feral Rex being in Earth Wars even after the official Predaking came out counts.

When certain releases were improved KOs of official and 3rd Party figures that were of greater quality, than the original. Making the fake product superior to the authentic ones.

Finding out that Dr. Wu was really a doctor irl. (at least that's what I remember)

My reaction to the legends class 3P figures explode in popularity. Don't get me wrong... I think they're great. Just that, many years ago I never would have expected it to happen.

Gcreation Shuraking in the POTP cartoon rather than the actual Volcanicus.

And while I'm here: Transform N' Rollout's Jazz having it's CAD files stolen, with the thief signing his name in Chinese characters with the mechanical detail inside Jazz's calf

Did anyone mention the debacle with the Crazy Devy G1 Predaking wings? Between CD “advertising” the chrome as being gold plated and CD stans believing it and buying the set as a gold investment, to the actual product damaging the stock wings and CD blaming the consumer’s lack of skill in installing the parts.

Although I guess that was more of a hot mess than a weird moment.

Kronos was the weirdest thing EVER. I remember seeing pictures of 3 or 4 different looking prototypes that ended up looking nothing like the final figure.
I preordered it and totally forgot about it (second 3rd party figure I bought after Quakewave). It was the exact opposite of Quakewave. I've bought shampoo
bottles made of better plastic. Mine fell apart standing on the shelf and I ended up throwing it away a few months after buying it.
The designer still does a lot of work in the 3P world (people would be surprised), but thankfully he doesn't produce his own product anymore.
