Just a heads-up for anyone buying from overseas -- Japan Post has temporarily suspended all package service to the USA except slow-ass-boat.
That means no EMS, no SAL.
You might still be able to get things shipped by Fedex or DHL or some other private courier, but it likely won't be cheap.

 

Why to the USA?

 

When did this happen? I got two things that were shipped from there beginning of April...

 

As of 4/24 (which is basically from today)

 

OK cool wondering why my stuff is taking so long, they got shipped beginning April and tracking doesn't show any updates.

 

The USA is the biggest center of the outbreak now. By total, not per capita this time. A number of companies are reducing shipping to and from the US to reduce exposure. The same happened to other countries that were major clusters of the outbreak.

 

Ugh, I've had a package stuck in Osaka since the 14th:

Arrival at outward office of exchange OSAKA INT

Hasn't moved at all

 

I have one from March 13th still stuck. PayPal protection is 6 months, there's no reason to be petty over an international crisis. You'll get your shit, be patient.

To follow up on that- Japan post is returning packages to shippers if they can't move them. DHL and FedEx are still viable options for the time being.

Damn, that explains why my ZT Superitron gift set has not shown any tracking movements! Got it from ShowZ late March too. I’ll give it a full month or so before I reach out to cancel if there’s still no movement

 

I'm assuming DHL and Fedex are still operating. Amazon Japan ships everything DHL and that's where most of my overseas preorders are right now.

The way it read, is if its in movement now, it continues, but everything submitted for shipping the 24th on is delayed?

Cmon now..I need my crack..Gunna revolt over this one.

 

I have two packages sitting in Japan (and two in China) since end of March. The Japan Post shipping delays have been going on for quite some time, the 24th is just when they officially called it.

 

Can someone please rephrase this entire conversation to better fit in the "sales, deals, and coupons"?  

Let me try, "Shipping deal: order now to get your stuff sooner - 2 mo!"  

I suppose we do live in an age where Negative Deals are the best we can do!  

 

I suppose that some could consider this a "deal": HobbyLinkJapan (for those who don't know) has a "Private Warehouse", where they can hold purchased items up to 60 days (like a Stack, so you can wait and ship multiple purchases together). Due to the latest updates on shipping, HLJ has temporarily done away with their 60-day limit. So, if you currently have times in their Private Warehouse, or have items dropping soon, no need to worry about losing those items or being forced to pay for DHL or anything.

I for one am glad for the shipping posts. I also had packages stuck in the pipeline from the last month with no clear information on what was happening (only assumed).

 

Same I wish I would have known to pick free shipping with tfsafari but the tracking number spooked me.
