So much this. I understand there're limitations for designing a mass-retail release, but it's always possible to go back to the drawing board and work out a transformation that negates the need to partsform.
Honestly, I wouldn't have minded if they went with the Earthrise Starscream route and just took the Classics design and reworked it a bit. But I digress.

no, im saying that because it is 3d printed the tolerances CAN vary to a large degree, from being too tight and needing to be sanded and being too loose and falling out. also it is still a parts former because the piece CAN be removed to make the transformation easier. reading comprehension is important, as is not putting words into peoples mouths (keyboards in this case)

    First of all: it's

Second of all: It doesn't need to be removed during transformation or in either mode. Doesn't look like partsforming to me. You could glue it down if you're that worried about it coming off.

Looks like the transformation is a bit more awkward, but honestly, this is a brilliant bit of engineering to fit within the existing figure design. Hope it's made widely available and affordable.

are you seriously going to nitpick me not using an apostrophe? you can't glue it down as it needs to rotate. it's still partsforming, it's just partsforming that people can more easily ignore. also like i said, it takes a cliffjumper that people already complain is too small for the price and adds $15 making him $35 (but hey, some of the people that complain about his price probably already pay that much for ironfactory figures)

Woo! Correct apostrophe use for the win! :rock :rock :rock :rock :rock  (Sorry, I'm a grammar nerd.)

Ah, forgot about the rotating. It's definitely an expensive way to fix the problem, but I'm impressed someone managed to make the figure transform the way Hasbro should've in the first place.

Guys, can't we all admit that you're BOTH arguing over something that is meaningless?

Well obviously. We're on a toy forum. Meaningless stuff helps people stay sane at the moment, haha.

Oh, I guess I see what you mean. But the difference here is now the partsforming is entirely optional, like Earthrise Optimus' buttplate. You can't ignore the mandatory step of removing Cliffjumper's rear end, but this kit gives you the option to choose between a self-contained transformation and a backpackless (but IMO not cleaner) robot, which I wouldn't really call a partsformer.

Thanks for including me, I think? I don't criticize people on their grammar or punctuation though. That's usually just a strawman distraction argument people use when they're losing an argument. And arguing about partsforming is admittedly meaningless but it is inevitable here given that's the whole topic of the thread.

    Right?
I just find it hard to believe that after all these years of designing robots that turn into other things, Hasbro couldn’t figure out a way to make Cliffy.

There is a pin that would have to be removed.

I have this microscopic Bumblebee... looks about half the size of this Cliffy... front of car turns into feet, some rather clever collapsing of the sides into arms...

    ... no parts forming.

I just got mine and installed it. I only had to do a little bit of sanding to make everything fit right but it's on and it works! The transformations now just a little bit more cluttered and the vehicle mode is pretty tight, but overall I think the trade off is worth it. Shame be to partsforming

I’m not usually a fan of 3-D printed upgrade kits; frankly, I hate the look of the printed parts and even my home printer is usually more high-definition than these kits. However, in this case it’s quality material, and the part is hidden pretty well in both modes. Transformation is incredibly tight with the new part and requires learning a new pattern but he looks good in both modes now, and can also still hold the part as a removable shield if you want. I would recommend it!

I'm sorry but this is flat out embarrassing for Hastak. They could have designed this with half the plastic (knowing hastak) used to prevent parts forming. Good job on fixing this!

Neat, but I really don't mind the parts forming. *ducks for cover*.

Due to EmGo's video, I've ordered this kit! I can understand large figures partsforming, like combiners, or Omega, but a regular sized figure should not parts form, unless it is a weapon that gets included in alt-mode.
