So since there going in a different direction with the films. I think they should distance bumblebee's look away from the bayverse with a more G1 looking head. What are your thoughts?

Keep why because general audiences are familiar with that head design the most.

This face design, although arguably most recognisable, is tied to the Bayverse aesthetic. If they decide to change it, it will be a clear visual statement for the audience that they're moving away from that period.

They need to make him look more like a yellow, robot Shrek.

Right now, they're better off keeping it the same - it's the most recognizable to movie audiences.

I don't mind the one in Bumblebee personally. It's different enough from his slightly terrifying Bayverse face.

If they were to change it, the one in the prequel comic looked like a decent replacement—maybe with a few modifications to make him cuter.

Honestly the comic version is the one I like the most. I think it'd be a good replacement. The bumblebee movie version is better than the bayverse one but I'm still not a complete fan. But I'd okay if it's still the same

I'd be extremely disappointed if they changed it. His face design in Bumblebee was perfect. It did a great job making Bayverse Bee's face more appealing. Bee's friendly and cute design was something widely praised among general audiences as soon as the first trailer hit. Like, I don't even think that trailer would have been as popular as it was if Bee didn't look the way he did. It would be a shame to change that because of nostalgia for G1.

In fact, I find G1 Bumblebee's face pretty average. Not bad by any means, but about as run-of-the-mill as you can get. I love the G1 aesthetic, but I do think the faces can get a bit samey (and are often the weakest parts of the designs). Bee was no exception. The only unique feature were the horns, which never made sense anyway. The antenna give the same silhouette, but they make more sense and serve to give him more expression. IMO it's a great change, and should stick. And I always prefer mouthless designs to designs with mouths. I see nothing that I would prefer changed. In my opinion, going with a more G1 face would be a huge step backwards.

And when I say the face shouldn't change, I mean the big picture. I'd be fine with minor detail touch ups. That sort of stuff happens between movies anyway.

Although I actually wouldn't mind the battle mask changing. I think it's a fine design, but I don't think it's perfect. I actually wouldn't mind something more inspired by G1 Bee's battle mask. Maybe with a single visor instead of two bulbous eyes. That's a G1 change I could get behind.

Personally I found the uncanny faces in AoE and the sunken eyes of the Cybertron scenes from Bumblebee to be far more unnerving than movieverse Bumblebee’s face.

Keep it the same. With a few tweaks depending on what the director wants.

Maybe you could change the helmet, and put horns on it, but I imagine a G1 face Bumblebee looking like Cliffjumper in his brief scene. And that couldn’t carry a whole movie.

I'd be up for an entirely new design. I have to say I am quite used to his Bayformers face and actually like it but I'm tired of seeing the same old stuff over and over again. I do believe there is a way to keep the features of his face that make him so popular like the large optics, cheekbones and speaker instead of a mouth with lips but still tweak 'em up a bit. I am also tired of cute and innocent Bee! Make his face look more alien, robust, robotic, aggressive with sharp edges and stuff.

Honestly I might be happy with something like this:

I never liked the horns on G1 bee, but always like the horns on cliffjumper :)

No, I've always liked the movie Bee face design, I'd like to see it stick around. It's become iconic in its own right.

Have him get heavily damage, and given a new G1-ish facelift as part of the repairs.
