    Thanks!

I love it, too bad I don't have my G1 version anymore.

So they took the original toy, erased the powermaster gimmicks and added some weapons and articulation. 30 years later, I expected more. It's a pity, G1 Doubledealer is one of my favourite toys.

I am glad they did. Even back in the 80' s, the powermaster gimmick was the most intrusive gimmick, of all "masters" gimmick systems.

looks good! Can't wait to get him
He still technically has it since Knok and Skar are in the GS cassettes set and can go into DD's chest.

Haven’t watched the video, but Doubledealer can fit the Knok and Skar Cassettes in his chest, probably because a Machine Wars Soundwave repaint is in the works.

Yeah...i know...and that's why I dont agree with his complaint. The original powermaster gimmick was the one which was most detrimental too sculpt, transformation scheme and it even hindered the already lackluster G1 articulation. Those internal powermaster levers often ran deep into the figure.

    Trains are always late.

Not really. You just had to hold the button down to transform them if you had misplaced the Powermaster figure. They did not hinder articulation at all, although they didn’t have good articulation anyway; it just wasn’t caused by that Powermaster gimmick.

I never had Dreadwing or Darkwind, but out of the others, I’d say Slapdash was the only poor toy.

I've found that if I have the G1, an update that is pretty much the same thing just with some more articulation oftentimes doesn't interest me that much unless there is some drastic improvement. And while I generally am not a fan of the power master gimmick, I did like it for DD--it was cool that the autobot PM unlocked his 'bot mode and the 'con PM unlocked his 'con mode.

Its not about having to hold down the tab to transform it. I am talking about the internal mechanism - which in many powermaster enabled figures had to run throughout the main body of the figure. In short; this meant that any transformation scheme and articulation had to be designed, literally avoiding the perimeters of that mechanism. Even the headmaster spec block ate away less space from the main bodies.

Here we go again, watch the fandom meltdown over another partsformer! Oh no, Hasbro cheaped out again, making his tail-end partsform just like Cliffjumper!

Doubledealer looks like a very solid figure. Glad I got my preorder in for him.

Except Targetmasters, that’s true for all late 80s Transformers toys. They all had intrusive gimmicks.

He usually gets figures around 3 months in advance so I assume Wave 2 is indeed coming in July.

As for Doubledealer, he's a cool figure but I'm not that attached to the character. I could get him to increase my Masterforce collection I guess but I'm more excited for a possible Cybertron Red Alert repaint.

Looks like you will be able to peg the missile in-between the bird mode legs. Yay.

E: also, there is a shot at the end in robot mode with the wings spread out. Also yay.

I loved the original DD, and no I can’t wait to get this. Heck, I’d also love any retool they can get out of this mold... (MW Soundwave, CD Red Alert, Stalker, BW Megstron)
