I think Transmetal Iguanus was officially repurposed as the G1 character at some point. Fracture works nicely too.

The Bayverse Bludgeon is such a great design despite looking like nothing even close to resembling the rest of my collection. I've decided that as they are "Pretenders" maybe instead of pretending to be humans or skeleton samurai or Godzilla they are part of some outlier colony and regarded as pretend Cybertronians by the "most pure stock" [characters like Mirage] and looked down upon.

As such: Bludgeon, Iguanus, Skullgrin, and Bugly. I have Hunt for the Decepticons Mindwipe for Bomb Burst somewhere.
I also use Last Knight Megatron as my Jhiaxus as I figure he's been spending his time evolving. Movie Lockdown serves as Jhiaxus' second, Rook.
Haven't decided of who to use Firage and Bumblebee as but I am leaning towards Vroom and Landmine.

Edit: I've also got Breacher to use as Longtooth.

 

Have a look at the other commander class toys in beast hunters, there is alot of random toys that fit in well with current scout sizish mini bots

You could repurpose him as that obscure Decepticon doctor based on the green G1 Ratchet.

Maybe use him as Turbomaster Scorch. Either paint his head or give him a new one like CHUG Trailbreaker's. The name Scorch kind of works for a Fire Services vehicle.

 

I've recently decided Beast Hunters Darksteel will be, for all intents, my Flamefeather. Although I will probably keep the Dark Name and just impose the Flamefeather personality upon him since the back of Darksteel's box is a bit empty on giving him personality.

Likely, I will slide a few other Beast Hunter Predacons in to the roles of Sparkstalker and Cindersaur.

A long time ago, I bought one to repaint. Even started it but never finished it. I don't know what character you'll go with but he looks good in gunmetal.

 

I'm sure people do this anyway but Collector's Club Ferak, Henkei Strafe and Shattered Glass Cyclonus along with the various other repaints of Classics Cyclonus as members of Cyclonus' Armada.

I don't know if this counts a repurposing, but for every chug season shelf i like to have a version of the season's respective leader. and maybe a starscream. For season 1 I use siege optimus and megatron, megs will both will probably be replaced with netflix megatron and ER prime, season 2 will probably have both siege versions of optimus and megatron. season 3 has classics prime, maybe classics megatron, Galvatron (either eventually energon or whatever wfc3 gives us) and potp rodimus. Season 4 (rebirth/headmasters mixed together) gets to have some optimus that I'm not sure of what for that shelf, and probably energon galvatron if wfc3 gives us a galvatron. season 5 probably should have a galvatron and also TR optimus and megatron get to be action master optimus and megatron.

Energon starscream gets to be season 3 ghost starscream and ER starscream gets to be pretender starscream because I really don't want to replace the siege seekers on the season 1 shelf.
so yea, repurposing figures for different representations of the same character across multiple seasons of g1

I’m using Armada Corona Sparkplug as my Micronus. To me, unless you have a certain look in mind, I think just about any Minicon could work for Micronus.

I made an unusual choice for my Quintus: Animated Blitzwing. A couple reasons being both Blitzwing and Quintus having ties to the Quintessons and the Animated figure’s face changing gimmick.

As for Quintus, currently using TLK Quintessa as my Quintus. Until something better comes along.

You can also use Energons Alpha Q as Quintus.
