I really hope that with a tm Megatron the alt mode arms can pivot up to become the shoulder mounted pistol things like they did in the show.

 

I always thought I hated this design until my recent Beast Wars rewatch, and I actually like it better than Optimal Optimus! Can't wait for this guy - Where are people preordering him?

 

As far as I know he's only on pre-order at Show-Z right now.

I used to extend his legs in gorilla mode too as kid, called a brute force transformation lol.

 

Officially he's 21.5cm, which is ~8.4". I've no idea which mode that is, though - presumably 'bot mode.

It's all about switching the robot mode and alt mode chests for one another to give Primal that GQ look.

Looks like I'm too late to post any feedback that the manufacturer would see. They're too far in the design process by the looks of the white plastic prototype. I wish they would have added more MP articulation. Since a bunch of beast and bot mode parts don't need stuffed in his torso I'd like to have thought that the heads could hide in him while give a SH Figuarts style torso swivel. This could have easily had chest flies too. Again I refer to this Goku figure. MP 43 BW megatron has chest flies. They could have really done that here.

I hope his elbow is a double swivel, so he can really crunch those arms up to almost touch his hand to his shoulder. I'm also really hoping that the hip joint is a ball swivel. It looks like it could be and may be. I also wish they would have snuck a toe hinge in.

The torso swivel and especially chest flies seem to be the biggest, easiest misses here. The chest fly articulation opens doors for so many more sweet poses.


Sculpt and accessories are awesome. Glad he's gonna come with a stand too. That's a necessity!!

Reference this SH figuarts Goku for a pic of the double ball joint torso swivel and chest fly shoulder joints. The chest double ball joint allows for leaning 360° and provides an ab crunch that is aesthetically pleasing and doesn't open the figure up wide like we see on these transformers. Typically they have to make an ugly ab crunch because there are alternate mode parts in the torso. I think they could have got away with it here.

 

Totally agree with you on the articulation. First things I looked for were the chest flies and a sign of ab movement. Something similar to MP Megatron, Dinobot and JX Winged Dragon would be so easy to implement here due to the super simplistic transformation but, at the same time, I don’t really expect that much from this company.

Optimus will be a good example of their quality and paint technique of but I think Cheetor will be the real determiner for how much they’re willing to alter the original figures to truly bring them up to MP standard. He needs much more work than Primal in my opinion. It’s be great to get a smidge of articulation on his cheetah jaw/bot thumbs with a blast effect piece and I’d be really impressed if they made his tail whip out of individually ball jointed pieces so it can be fully articulated and hold poses. His chest transformation hinges need reworking and his ball jointed elbows need an upgrade.

It’d be nice if they were active around here so we could make suggestions for the best possible outcome.

 

I'm going to have to pass on this figure is he is not substantially improved in articulation over the original. The Cheetor, I may not have the same level of self control....
Not to name names but certain new company offerings have me in disbelief with how they ignore altmodes.

 

Where are pics of the cheetor. Chest flies would be super cool to get on him so he could be posed with his main weapon: the dual hand / cat head laser blaster. That was transmetal cheetor's main weapon.

Does anyone know how to get hold of the manufacturer? Maybe we could link them to this thread for all the various ideas and requests.

Over 8 inches? That's a pretty good size, let's hope this looks as good as the render does!
