I was referring to them canceling a convention still more than 3 months away being premature, hence the, "Not you, the convention canceling."
Decided to axe about 20 of my about 70 figure collection... reworking the displays. It's shocking how much of a difference this made, these shelves look way cleaner and more focused. Still working on the villain shelf.
I’m reading this right now. I love Allred, Slott’s alright. I haven’t read his Spider-Man, but he fits Allred’s art. Would have liked to seen where Abnett and Lanning would have gone. I don’t remember the Surfer doing that much in Annihilation, and man I was so hoping that he’s be recruited by Captain Marvel or something in the MCU and be in Endgame. I mean the Infinity Gauntlet did come from the pages of the Silver Surfer. And they just got FF back... Anyway this is still pretty good. A different pace to the other cosmic stories and much more in tune to Allred’s style. If not the Silver Surfer, the Scarlet Witch could have House of M’d Wolverine over. Swap back those Inhumans for mutants before it’s too late and start the MCU2 with a big fat X! Oh and Leia is a Disney Princess now. They’re just too scared to Wreck it(Ralph).
Not everything at Haslab has to be $500. I view it as just a way to get stuff out maybe a little risky for retail. Unicron and the Sail Barge needed Haslab but everything doesn’t have to be that pricey.
True, but seeing as though everything they've put out so far has been trying to be the center of a collection, I suspect Haslab is going for the awe factor (though they missed the mark with Cookie Monster by not making him a workable puppet, however that may be because of licensing issues or some other weirdness). With their current strategy, I really don't think they'd keep the cost low since these projects are ones they want to go all out on, especially with the more limited production run. They could always change their strategy and while my wallet would appreciate it, I don't think they will. But as Haslab projects become more successful, you never know; they may go for the cheaper alternative. Again, I doubt it, but we'll see.
After mulling over it, and with help from @MatrixOfWumbo ’s review some pages back, I decided to pass on the deluxe White Widow. The suit is striking for sure, but the articulation seem kinda iffy, especially the ankles, and I already have the SHF Endgame Widow. And idk how much use I’ll get out of the effect pieces. Of course, I’m sure once I see the movie I’ll change my mind lol. Hopefully not
Bought an extra Man-Thing BAF to paint up. Went a little lighter than intended, but I dig the results.
I hope the Sentinel looks similar to Iron Studios statue: I would try posing him like this on the villains shelf:
Gambit? Really?? Of all the X-men they could have put in there to battle 3 of the most classic X-Men villains they chose GAMBIT??
She stands fine. I kinda like the white. She gives a nice contrast in the sea of muted colors. Hasbro designer: Hey, make sure to make the neck ball a similar size so, they can do headswaps. Other Hasbro Designer: pffft... Fuck em... We will make another $40 set, for compatible heads. Im doing a giraffe neck and a weird, soft ball peg. Should we add a seam down the neck?
I more so meant that the ankles don’t have rockers, only swivels. And the hair style is incorrect too. But the face sculpt is good, and I do like the white. I just forwent it because she’s still dead and the suit isn’t necessarily definitive. If it’s ever on sale, then I might bite
Yeah, I started the first half with trades and stopped when I saw the omnibus coming. Binge reading/watching I kinda forget going through it so fast, so rereading from the start.
True. I mostly bought it for the stuff and I had the $25 off $100 coupon. Essentially free w/ the outdoor toys I bought the kids. I ended up liking her.
If it makes you feel better, one of those 3 villains doesn't seem like it will be doing any more fighting... I just realized that Sentinels have the same color scheme variations as Cyclonus. Which means someone is going to be disappointed when the HasLab Sentinel is finally revealed.
