As much as I can, but then again I've switched to a lot of citrus flavored sparkling waters lately for my fizzy drink needs.

I drink the deer park/poland spring sparkling. It's just carbonated water and natural flavors.

Our store brand (Meijer) lime flavored is actually pretty doggone good for 1.29 a 2-liter. I just kind of wish they'd do an orange flavor.

I guess? I avoid American Coca Cola and only drink the Mexican variant with real sugar, if that counts.

In general I try to, but I'm a Diet Coke (diet soda, in general) junkie. I can't help it! Aspartame is in almost EVERYTHING, though. It's hard to avoid.

Pretty much yeah. Aspartame messes me up a bit, so I avoid most diet drinks and a lot of those drink concentrates that you add to water

I find that most kid's toothpastes have saccharin in it and I found that concerning. I was wondering if other people pay attention to that kind of stuff. So, not just talking about drinks.

Not really. I'm not aware of any reason to do so unless you have a particular sensitivity or allergy to them specifically. Honestly, the biggest thing I can think of that I've ever heard is psychological. That is, that people sometimes eat more when actively consuming artificial sweeteners because they think it's okay to do so since they think what they're eating is "healthier".

Give me real sugar or give me death. Diet fizzy drinks taste like dooky from a butt and sugar free sweet treats are just laxatives masquerading as sweets.

    I avoid them completely.
That being said, I'm not a big fan of sweet foods in general anyway. I think the last time I had any soda-pop was back in 2007, and I did not like it.
No, wait, it was when a lady friend gave me a sip of her diet coke/vodka drink maybe 4 years ago. I spat it out because it was so revolting. Not the vodka part, but the soda part.

I prefer real soda over diet soda. Real sugar is superior.

I stopped drinking any soda or carbonated beverages about 15-years ago. Can't even have a sip of anything carbonated without feeling sick.
Kind if sucks because I really enjoyed Killian's Red.

I don't drink anywhere near as many fizzy drinks as I used to (I think I was once single-handedly keeping Coca-Cola and Red Bull solvent in the UK...), but when I do, it has to be actual sugar. Saccharine, aspartame and the others just taste wrong.

I did try Coca-Cola Life, which whilst it had a closer flavour to Coca-Cola than Diet Coke does, it was very weak, like someone had "improved" Coke with the delicious flavour of water; it was to Coke what primary school orange squash was to actual orange squash :)

Interesting side note - I read ages ago (although I've not been able to find the source on this since, so take it with a bucket of salt...) - apparently, whilst most "diet" drinks are formulated by removing the sugar from the regular drink and adding sweeteners until the tastes match, because Pepsi was trouncing Coke in the cola wars at the time, Diet Coke was formulated from the ground up to taste like Pepsi :)

I avoid it as much as possible

if you have Carbonated drink needs and like Sparkling water i can not recommend the Aarke Carbonater big-AA03PDSL.jpg

It's price may seem steep at 200$ but think about how much one pays for a pack of carbonated beverages you do need to buy replacement tanks and spare canisters if more then one of you uses it but you make your money back in the first month

it's not healthier sugar alternatives are healthier but nothing artificial ever makes me feel good

I try and avoid anything artificial.

My cholesterol was high in October 2019.

    I'm 5'1" and was 156 pounds.

I stopped taking a medication that was causing me to gain weight.

Started on a diet and exercise.

As of now I weigh somewhere in the 130s.

I would use the weight machine at Stop and Shop to measure my progress.

However it is unavailable due to covid-19.

    All the best everyone.
