Been contemplating lately about modding my Omega Supreme's head to be on a ball joint to give it him more movement. Its pretty decent as it is but I always prefer ball joints for their ability to tilt.

I've repainted the face of mine a while back (can't remember if I posted pictures) and have been trying to look at how I could turn his visor into a flap to lift it up to see the painted detail but not come across the right part yet that wouldn't be too intrusive.

Eh, I just wish they had the guardrails like the actual tracks.

I took a chance and ordered a full set of road pieces. Never ordered anything from Nonnef before, so this could either be fun or an expensive disaster.

    Same here.
Should be here in a few days.
Curious to see what's what with this upgrade. Guess I'll be removing my upgrade stickers from the stock tracks if all goes well.

    (cross posting from Appreciation Thread)

    @Yaujta

My first go at attempting some new ramp configurations using Nonnef's ramp kit. Believe it or not, there was a bit of a learning curve in figuring out how all the pieces work with one another. Pretty cool design.

For now, this was the best I could muster up.

This was the deluxe set btw.

Dug into my bag of leftover Reprolabels and spruced the tracks up a bit. They needed it.

    update:

Removed the ramp supports to give it a more G1 styled ramp.....they don't "connect" where the ramp hits the floor part, they are merely pushed up against each other, but it still works I suppose.

    Impressive!
My tracks came today. Quality is good, and there were a LOT of pieces in that little shipping box.
Won't really get to mess with them until Monday or so, but so far I like them.

Thanks man. Looking forward to what you come up with ....you've got the touch for this kinda stuff. (cue music?)

Here's an update using just the standard Omega setup, but extended.

This big bastard came in the other day and I gave it a transform to alt mode and back last night. My only complaint is really that the panels on my copy are real finicky trying to close up the rocket assembly. But I'm not displaying this in Alt Mode anyway, so I'll live. It's really my only issue with the toy.

I'm really glad that the thighs, knees, and ankles all allow for so many stopping points and most importantly seem to be able to hold the weight of the figure in poses with the knees slightly bent (looking at you, Metroplex).

Awesome display piece. It'll look great going against Devastator. Just need a Robo-smasher now.

I picked up an Omega Supreme at Toys R Us (still alive in other countries!) right before the COVID-19 lockdown.

I have been waiting for a good time to open him. First step is to remove the burn marks with some rubbing alcohol!

Omega was always one of my favorite characters, and always wanted a Titan class version, however, now that it's here, I feel it is very expensive, I got Metroplex, Fortress, Trypticon and Devastator for $100 +- each, hey, I got Tryp for $70, this guy is going for $169 or more everywhere, and the prices keep going on, $10 more and I can get the DX9 Gabriel, at this point I'm unsure which one I will be getting

I was able to fix mine today, I took the claw apart and I noticed the ratcheting piece is made of Nylon.

What else is Nylon around the house? Zip ties. I cut up a piece of zip-tie, curled it up and squeezed it into the gap behind one of the ratchet pieces to push it out further because fixing a mis-aligned pin is not going to be possible. Now my last leg is solid in rocket mode.

Finally transformed into base mode for the first time, added a sorely needed Autobot insignia on the rocket as my original G1 Omega had one in this location. Works great with Siege type figures but a little weird with Earthrise earth cars.

Lovely. Didn't hear/feel any ratcheting on Omega's left shoulder so I opened it up and found this. I think it would've been fine if I left it alone since it wasn't loose at all but I'd be left wondering if something was broken so. 20200722_052321.jpg 20200722_052353.jpg

Looks like one of the ratchet points was flipped in assembly. Happens to Oreo sandwiches sometimes   I'm glad nothing was broken!

So, now that I have one of these on the way I see that nonnef had some extension tracks for him, but they're out of stock. Does nonnef ever revisit old parts and put them up again, or is this one of those deals where I'm out of luck?

I'm building a rather large diorama for my Transformers and having Omega size ramps for a big section of it would be awesome.

I thought all his stuff was 3D printed, so I can't see why you can't just have a set printed for you. I'd ask about it.
