I like certain aspects about Prometheus and Alien Covenant but I feel like Ridley Scott lost his touch, just like Frank Miller has in his old age. They just don't have whatever it was that made them good at what they're known for. It seems to happen to a lot of old heads, sadly. Best years were behind them.

For the Alien franchise they just should have made an Amanda Ripley movie. Make the story just like the Isolation game. I think people would have loved it and it would have given more people a chance to appreciate the love that got put into that game.

^this. What's worse is when it comes from the store like that. Stuff should only get battered and beat up through regular and heavy use.

The long beard trend is played out. Most dudes just look homeless with a big beard. It's been going on for almost 10 years now. Trim that shit down.

I think Stephen King and his books are vastly overrated. I've read It, The Green Mile, Cell, Cujo, Carrie, Lisey's Story, The Stand, Pet Semetary, and the Dark Tower series and every time I pick up one of his books I think "this one will be different." No. And because I cannot not finish a book once I've started it (OCD there, I guess), I push myself to finish it. Off all those books, I enjoyed TGM and LS, but the rest are okay at best. I really don't get the love for his books.

Of course, I could say the same thing for George R. R. Martin and Kevin J. Anderson (to a lesser extent - his Saga of Sevens Suns is about three books too long though).

Honor culture is better than dignity culture. Dignity culture is cowardly.

Honor culture takes account for the things they say and holds those accountable for the things they say.

Dignity culture always has a big mouth because they know that if anyone confronts them they can just call the authorities to get them out of dutch. They're only bold because of that.

People these days need to learn to be responsible and accountable in what they do and say.

Disney's The Black Hole had the potential to be one of the best sci-fi movies ever made with a few story adjustments and better acting from the human cast..

Honestly saying anything positive about his Batman performance seems unpopular.

Yeah that’s true but me personally I really like his performance of a jaded old experienced robinless Batman

Ok, that's enough of that. This thread is called the "Unpopular Opinions" thread, not the "unpopular bickering" thread. Please STOP IT. Also, it was almost veering towards social political commentary, which would be against rule 3 (NO POLITICS). Further derailing of this thread, and back n forth bickering will result in thread bans/warnings/infractions.

And better visual effects. Great story, but the poor visual effects (the visible robot wires were just sloppy) and the acid trip of a final scene killed it. And I actually adore this movie.
