Even though it’s been four years since FOC was ported to the PS4 and Xbox One, it still doesn’t make sense to me that they didn’t port WFC to those consoles also.

It’s such a travesty that the future of Transformers games is nearly non-existent. Mobile games with micro-transactions up the wazoo are apparently the only games Transformers will be receiving for the foreseeable future. What a shame.

 

That’s because in order to make a successful, worthwhile console/PC game you need to put a lot of money into it.

Hasbro’s making everything on the cheap and lazy these days. A full fledged game is out of the question.

 

So many great memories, screaming across a capture the flag map in flight mode, landing and deploying a heal beam on a beefy tank bro and then watching the fire bounce off him harmlessly as I peek over his shoulder to snipe our enemy. I did it so many times. Still one of my favorite multiplayer experiences.

Activision is blundering corporate garbage in a country that has a dire need to stop giving money to stupid people.

 

I can\'t believe they did such a thing, it\'s almost a crime, the games were also good! Activision what have you done!
Sigh, these games will be remembered.

 

I miss this game so much, a decade of memories never forgoten. I was very good on PS3 version before I was made a Prime. Countdown To Extinction was my favorite, RIP WFC Servers....

First Revenge of the Fallen and Now THIS? 2020 really is the most depressing year

 

It's utterly depressing to see the Cybertron games gutter this way especially knowing there's nothing to look forward to with Transformers games anytome soon. I have little hope in whatever Certain Affinity cooks up, I'm sure it'll be a fun romp for however long it lasts but it will never be the same as a proper AAA single player story-driven Transformers game like WfC and FoC. Nor do I expect to have nearly as much fun with it's multiplayer gameplay as I did in FoC. Hasbro needs to get their heads out of their tailpipes and put effort into something special. With the current WfC toyline, Netflix series and comic book synergy, this was the PERFECT time to reboot the WfC video game series but they failed spectacularly to take advantage of that opportunity. It's simultaneously infuriating and depressing.

 

Is that game from Certain Affinity even still happening? I mean, I would think Hasbro would be trying to hype people up for the first Transformers console game in roughly half a decade.

I'm with you on the WFC series. When the WFC trilogy was first announced, I had sort of expected a video game tie-in of some sort to be announced at some point later. I'm still surprised that a game was never planned, or even thought of, for this trilogy. Hasbro seems to be excelling at everything except video games. They just sit on their hands and do nothing in that department. Kind of ironic, too, since it's mostly well known that kids these days are more interested in technology, like video games, rather than toys.

 

Fack. Is this effective immediately?? Woulda liked to have given WFC one last co-op hurrah

As far as we know it still is. There was an earnings report from a month or two ago that listed several projects that they were working on and Transformers was on the list. There's more than likely some delays due to the pandemic but I agree it would be nice to have some official announcement or something to start getting people hyped. They were probably waiting for sdcc but now that the con has been canceled, hopefully they announce it soon.

They're not going to continue spending money supporting the servers for games they can't even sell anymore. Nobody does anything for free.

 

WFC multiplayer was already essentially dead thanks to all the cheaters and hackers.
Shame about escalation and co-op though.
And FOC? only team deathmatch had players left in it, and that was thoroughly dull after playing it for so many years.
This is a shame for friends that share the game, but otherwise not a huge change.

 

What's weird is the order. Why not shut down the next gen ports last and the original servers last?

Still, hope Certain Affinities Transformers game gets more press soon, or if Activision will try again for the next generation of consoles.

 

The game could still be run on a server, the game is made for old pc's and xbox 360 and ps3 I don't think it would take much resources to run servers for them.
Here is a good example of Bungie or Activision still keeping the old Destiny 1 servers even though they don't earn money from it.

 

Welp that\'s what happens when Activision gets involved with anything. What a trash company.

Sucks because due to this pandemic, I was looking to play a lot of my old games on my ps3 especially ROTF, WFC, DOTM, and FOC. Man this is truly depressing. I really wanted to platinum those games but now I can't
