I really hope that Maketoys reissues Utopia one day. I'd love to get my hands on one. And then maybe they can finally do Trypticon.

It would also be nice if Maketoys did mini figures that would represent the minions for thier CityBots, like Full-Tilt and Brunt for Trypticon, Fasttrack for Pandinus (Scorponok), and Scammper, Slammer, and Six-Gun for Utopia (Metroplex), that can interact with thier 'masters' in City Mode, like how Six-Gun and Brunt formed Towers/buildings in the G1 figures of Metroplex and Trypticon.

I hope you do get him; he's an awesome figure!

I hit the jackpot about a month ago, when I landed one MISB on Facebook Marketplace for about US$240! The seller even delivered it to me in person! Service!

So keep looking; they are out there.

I'm so in love with his robot mode that I haven't been able to bring myself to transform him yet! Such a solid, stable and posable figure; everything that Generations Metroplex should have been IMHO (sold my upgraded one on Ebay to pay for Utopia, and pretty much broke even money-wise; but absolutely upgraded figure-wise! ;) )

Tip for any new Utopia owners (or longtime owners that decide to take him out of the box for the first time, say, because lockdown): be careful to check and double-check when applying the screw-hole covers; once those things go in, they aren't made to come out! Even with the instructions, make sure you definitely have the correct covers going into the correct screw-holes (I mixed a couple of them up, and only just averted disaster by filing down one of the longer ones to fit into one of the shallower, molded screw-holes). Oh, and in case you can't figure out where the white ones go (I struggled with this for a while, as there didn't seem to be instructions for them), the four same-sized ones go on his shoulders (two on each), and the sloped ones cover the screw-holes on the front of his wrists.

For me, the biggest thing I don't like about this mold is for transformation, need to move the chest back and forth, up and down like closet drawers --- I feel sooner or later this part will break.

I have Utopia & Dystopia, but the cost of shipping alone I can only imagine (also without box, booklets, and packing material)

Genuinely curious (as a recent buyer of the figure): how do other long-time owners feel on that note? He's been out for several years now; have you had any issues in this regard?

I have never thought it would break. It is very sturdy. But, having to move the chest parts back and forth several times per transformation is irritating.

The only thing that I REALLY dislike is the hollowness of the back mounted guns. Seriously, could it have hurt them to make it a 2 part mold or have filler pieces?

Mine rail tracks for the chest piece are already kind of loose after just 1 transformation round to all 3 modes. Since the real drawer would fail too if open/close too much, I assume these plastic ones can't live forever.... but again, I think not too many people transform this big boy very often.

Those gaps actually draw the eye! I can't not see them in practically every photo.

I have mine in storage so I want to ask: Is the main ramp large enough to accommodate new/old micromasters?

He should be good - he scales well with legends figures. He's the centrepiece of my diorama at the office. visitors are always distracted by it :)

I like Utopia more. Dystopia's main negative is his face, it's too glossy, while the rest of his coloration is matte, so his face just looks off because of the paint in certain lighting conditions.

Yeah but it has the right gun/ports on his head....I never understood why they did this on Utopia and made it a permanent thing. I mean they could have allowed disassembly...

This thing looks massive and I LOVE IT. Here's to hoping Metroplex gets the reissue treatment once Maketoys comes back in full swing!

Dystopia is still available from Robotoybase, but between the $400 price and shipping fees it's going to be expensive.
Speaking of which, now that there are speculations of a new titan Metroplex from Hasbro, I regret a little bit not having bought that version instead of Utopia so I could have both the Maketoys and the official one as different characters.
