Not going to get hyped over a twitter tease, but this couldn't be a better time for a new Crysis game to come along and melt everything for a few years.

This could either be a remaster or a sequel, but with the new generation coming, Crysis could make a comeback with all the new tech!!!

Not going to complain if it's just a strait remaster since it could do with an update under the hood, but releasing on current gen potatoes means they they probably aren't going to be doing anything crazy or interesting with it.

I hope the PC edition would be a free upgrade or given at a discount price.

Looks like I was wrong (and i'm happy to be in this case!), this is from the press release -

Crysis Remastered will focus on the original game’s single-player campaigns and is slated to contain high-quality textures and improved art assets, an HD texture pack, temporal anti-aliasing, SSDO, SVOGI, state-of-the-art depth fields, new light settings, motion blur, and parallax occlusion mapping, particle effects will also be added where applicable. Further additions such as volumetric fog and shafts of light, software-based ray tracing, and screen space reflections provide the game with a major visual upgrade.

There's no way all of that is going to run on current consoles and even less so on Switch, so good to see they are living up to it's PC origins.

Here's Digital Foundry on Crytek's software raytracing last year if anyone hasn't heard about it before -

I wonder if it's going to reclaim it's title as that game you brag about being able to run. "Oh yeah, well can your computer run Crysis on Max?"

On the current consoles perhaps, but could the upcoming generation?

Should be fine, they are looking like they'll be in the ballpark of 3600 and RX5700 but with the next generation of AMD architecture that isn't out anywhere yet and the extra optimisation that comes with consoles.

PC will obviously have higher settings, better performance and keep scaling with new hardware. It may also have the benefit of running with Nvidia's latest features if they choose to implement them.

Bah at EGS exclusive, but if it's timed then i'll have an RTX card by the time it hits Steam.
