I've got no choice since I work inside various Wal-Marts. The only thing my company has done to help us out during this whole thing is to slightly lighten our workload so we don't have to be in the stores any more then we have to be there. But every time I'm in a store, I check the toy section to see what I can find.
Word of warning to anyone who gets the new Captain America from the Abomination(video game?) wave. I bought him tonight to finish out the wave and both of the upper knee joints were glued to the thigh. Who ever glued the knee pads on either wasn’t paying attention or just used to much. Ended up needing to use my pocket knife and hot water to get them apart. Thankfully once I got them apart they work fine if a little tight.
Finally got the entire Black Widow wave. I’m really enjoying all the figures though I do wish we got a masked head for Red Guardian. The figure I’m most stoked about is Spymaster, mostly because I now have a Spymaster. Spymaster, White Rabbit, how many of these characters would any of y’all have predicted that Hasbro would make? While not the best figure ever, I’m just glad to get something other than Snowday Spider-Man or Fourth of July BBQ Captain America, just repaints and repeats of the same characters over and over again.
I was lucky enough to preorder singles of Black Widow when Pulse put them up. She's a really great figure. Seeing non-stock pictures of the blonde, I might get her when she's clearanced instead of just skipping her. Those stock photos where she looked like a blow-up doll did her no favors. Sadly, I've been out far more than I want to be since this all started. Part-time grocery work and suddenly my workplace that let me sit idle for months (told me to "stay in my lane" multiple times when I wanted to do some software-related stuff) thinks I should come in and do operations work now because I guess they consider me expendable? Still, I haven't been toy hunting at all since February so there's that. I put my little bit of free time into doing my taxes only to find out the deadline was pushed back three months. This year I actually managed to make some money selling off backstock but damned if all of the other associated costs didn't eat all of it and then some.
I hope my Walmart gets the Black Widow wave in, but they just got two cases of the Avengers wave, so probably not.
Has the Game wave always been 5.11.20, at Pulse? I noticed two Ghostbusters have been moved to July. Walmart's store inventory has to be fucked. Everyday, new stuff pops up as in stock. Can't be right.
Doesn't mean they won't do a Galactus after they do a Sentinel. I pretty much expect tgose would be the primary targets for Marvel Legends Haslab projects alongside a new Fin Fang Foom.
I put them all in my cart yesterday waiting for this price drop to happen again. I need Mister Fantastic to do the same. And I saw Doctor Doom at Target last week and really regret not getting him. I may swing in and see if he's still there
I say just grab them/check out with Amazon at the lowest price as it happens... I was sorta waiting for that sweet moment where the four core (have doom and she hulk already) would hit 14.99 or less at the same time, but it doesn't happen, one is always priced higher than the other three at various times, lol. I guess I just didn't want Super Skrull bad enough.
I’m sorry if that wasn’t clear. I put them in my amazon cart yesterday at full price, and bought the two who dropped today
Not to mention timing. I don't expect it to be as expensive as Unicron given it doesn't need to transform, but now would certainly a bad time economically to try to release it.
And I just went back to target and Doom was gone. I’ll spend a few extra bucks to get him from BBTS. with the discounts on the others it still works out in my favor
Got Bucky and Crossbones finally (mail's been a little slow) and both are great figures. I like Bucky a lot more than Crossbones, but there's thing Crossbones does better than Bucky too. Bucky seems to be mostly unique tooling so that's appreciated and I like the fact that he comes with realistic weapons (not a fan of sci-fi weapons unless someone is known for that like Cable), however, it would have been nice if he came with an alt short-haired head and that his holsters didn't have guns molded in them... especially since he comes with a pistol that would probably fit in the holsters. I can't stand web gear that you can't utilize basically. As for Crossbones he looks great and everything, but the buck he's on... not particularly a fan of how the shoulders seem to brush against the body (Grim Reaper, Wonder Man, etc. have all had that issue)... but I like the number of weapons he comes with and the holster on his web gear aren't useless, unlike Buckys. Good figures all around.
