I might have just recently watched the episode you’re referring to @Lazerwave. Can’t remember which exactly but it’s definitely in Zeo. I believe it’s somewhere after Tommy discovers he has a brother and before the first appearance of the Gold Ranger.
Yep, it was in Zeo. Lt. Stone got fired from the police force, Bulk and Skull quit out of protest in support of Stone, and they opened their own detective agency.
Thanks for pointing out that the episode was between Gold Ranger's first appearance and Tommy's Brother. I actually found that episode and had a good laugh at the scene, especially the part where Bulk and Skull made Putty sounds.
Oh cool, then I guess I don't have to start going through my Zeo episodes for ya. Curious, what episode is it?
Thanks! I think I'll probably have to do both concurrently. It's held together by rivets. I can use a vice to hold things together while using plastic cement on the rivet to hopefully re-bond with the plastic, but I think the neck needs to be repaired at the same time so that there's pressure on the rivets and the neck doesn't further break. I'll see if just trimming the springs will work or if I need some replacement springs. I don't mind some minor surgery on my toys Thanks again for the tips.
Good luck! I mean worst case for the legs, an option would be to simply remove the ratchet function and smooth down the teeth inside the hips and reduce them to friction joints, but it sounds doable to keep the ratchets, since the rivets are just stripped, nothing's broken off.
what I find interesting is how a toy line like henishin cyborg was shrunk down to microman size to apparently fit in well with the smaller Japanese homes yet sentai mech for decades have been huge, I do welcome the size reduction here though as my senati boxes take up considerable space.
I just love these giant mech, imagine what its like for a kid to get and play with that. And arguably still having that quality of the best toys from decades gone past.
I wish they had the quality of the toys from decades past. Gone is the "gokin" of yesteryear despite the feeling of heft that DX still brings. The designs tend to cater more toward collectibles and cluster-gestalts these days. Not that there can't be a balance there between form and function. But the golden era of transformable robots lies firmly between 1980 and 1986, when TRANSFORMING was the actual gimmick and more effort was placed on creating a sleek robot with a cinematic "wow" transformation. Orion Battler has the bulk and some of the form...but the idea that he more or less simply lays down to transform is unfortunate. Like I've said earlier, I think Kiramager is at least working toward a balance of form and function - much more than other recent offerings. There's still no gokin - but it seems that BoJ doesn't have much confidence in including it for what the extra cost must be nowadays - nor would I WANT it included on Kiramaizin with regards to the clear plastic being used. Basically, why sell a megazord for $60 when you can for $45 without the metal inclusion? An unfortunate truth.
overall I agree, sentai still have that 'toyetic' quality esp with regard to functioning clips (except when they break......gobusters, kyuryuger), but yes, the golden days are gone and even with sentai I see less paint apps, chrome appears to have finally gone (last time was dieseloh?) No metal, and also goofier designs with less actual transforming. Orion still looks great as a shelf beast, I still have the similarly 'stand up bot' mogydaioh, he did still have a motor!! Looks like we lost those too, and lights and sounds....... oh well. My days of collecting are finally over, that's not to say I will never again buy a toy, but I think the days of automatically getting the mecha are definitely done. It is fun to still see the reviews, currently excited to see king express this week!!
I really don't care about motors, lights and sounds. We've had plenty of the latter with Ninnenger, Pato/Lupinranger and Kyuranger. The Good Striker in PLR had the most incredibly annoying voice chip ever. Ninnenger at least was kinda fun but the batteries burned out quickly.
That's because Bandai has downgraded Super Sentai from Tier A to Tier B. That means the franchise has lower budgets due to lower sales, with lower expectations because they've put less money into it. Frankly, if Kiramager continues the trend it has done in its first five episodes, then this is the best thing to happen to Sentai in a decade since the story of the show is already better than the last several series.
oops, yes, my bad. the last series I have is zyuogher. and yes, kyuranger definitely had lights and sounds!
It really feels like some effort is being put into Kiramager...more so than in years past. I wonder if Hasbro has something to do with that since they now have a vested interest in the property and will want a product they can pitch well both in the States and abroad.
