Someone here earlier pointed out that the jet is inaccurate because it has the Air Force symbol on both wings. The reason for this is because the robot mode CGI model has the symbol on both back wings.

 

and to think i almost bought the OS studio series...i’m in love with this figure already (but to each there own don’t come at me with pitchforks)

 

Dang why did they screw up and make him tan?? The movie 1 figure was tan but the jet and not were grey in the movie. Hfdt leader was gray. This is supposed to be an MPM of the character in the movie not a tribute to the toy

 

That is worth the cost.

Wow, he looks fantastic. I was just the right age when the first Live Action movie came out for Hasbro to be able to haul out the original designs and get me nostalgic. The ones we've seen have been interesting, but I could ultimately pass on them. This is looking almost too good to pass up. I do kinda want to see what the high quality KOs look like, but a figure as great looking as that for $150 is good.

Saying MPM-10 is a remold of SS Starscream or the Leader Starscream is the equivalent of saying MP-44 is a heavy remold of MP-10.

 

No you guys got it all wrong! The SS is a downscaled version of the MPM!

 

It's pretty clear to me that this toy pulls a lot from previous mainline figures of movie Starscream. It does seem more like the ultimate homage to all the mainline movie Starscream toys from the past 13 years rather than paying homage to the 1st movie. I mean yea clearly the cg model influence can be seen in robot mode but that jet profile from the side looks like the SS voyager combined with the HFTD leader, parts of the silhouettes even match up.

Not necessarily bad things, just probably marketed better not as an MP.

 

I'm actually feeling the opposite so far. Of all the MPMs I think this has the least improvement over the previous best version of the character. That's not because this toy looks bad, but the HftD Starscream is so good. The second closest comparison would be MPM Optimus Prime (LT2 in particular) over the leader class toy.
I still hope to someday get this Starscream, but for me he's lower priority than MPM Megatron, Jazz, and some OSKOs I'm interested in...

 

Except tbh mpm prime is pretty disappointing in most departments, especially the proportions and paint. Even me, with the ko am starting to feel less enamored with each day I see him up on my shelf, cause his proportions and articulation aren't exactly great. And even thought I've had mpm bee for much longer, he doesn't seem to be as ig disappointing than mpm prime. Imo, this is just my opinion, but if they redid optimus just like takara redid mp-1, that would be fantastic.

 

While I wouldn’t be disappointed in getting an MPM Prime do-over, I think the proportions are quite well handled. They aren’t the same buff hero guy proportions we’ve seen on previous figures but it is much closer to the screen model in that regard. The paint job is pretty wack though, despite how much I like the combo of dark grey and silver on him the half painted areas are inexcusable.

 

I think eventually they'll redo him. I really like LT2, though. Better paint job and I can get him in some fun poses.
