Any tips on cleaning up the mess on Soundwave's chest door? Nothing I did seems to work and I'm afraid to try 90% alcohol because last time I did it melted the mold off the plastic.
So my Soudnwave has the same front piece inside the legs on both legs making the front of the space ship mode uneven. Am I fucked or is there someone with the same issue who could switch out with me and we can fix our soundwaves.
I had the same issue, but that was like 6 months ago. I looked at it and decided returning it was my best option. If you ordered it online it shouldn't be too difficult to get a replacement, or failing that contact Hasbro directly
Okay I'll do that. I hear Hasbro doesnt always have a direct replacement on hand. Its out of stock on pulse. This was a gift so idk what retailer they used. The woman and I have since parted ways also.... I don't have the packaging. If I could find a new one I could switch mine out with it, contact Hasbro, send them the defect and get either a Grapple or 3 of the same overstock Micromaster packs lmao.
I have the same issue. When looking at the nose of the "ship" the left side is larger on top and the right side is larger on bottom. Which way is yous?
Damn I think we have the SAME mismatch if I read you right. Should be larger on top and slope down I think. The gap on the right makes me think that it's a case of two left pieces. So does anyone have a Soundwave with two right pieces? Perhaps two of em? Oy vey we might be fucked m8.
I'm really hoping for Earthrise we get a good remold of this figure with a proper G1 altmode. I have the Soundblaster version which is really cool, but I definitely want a clean G1 version.
...what if we got both? I mean, did anyone think we'd be getting another Prime and Megs so soon after Siege?
Honestly, I just bit the bullet and ordered the Reprolabels set, and applied the black sticker to the chest. It's not ideal since you lose the transparency, but I considered it a fair trade-off for not potentially ruining the figure. Now I think I'll try to remove the rest of the battle damage (on the legs / arms / back), but 91% alcohol is a hard to get your hands on right now!
I find that by turning the waist around his robot mode looks nicer. The detail and paint apps on his legs were just overkill. With the back of the legs now facing front, you've got a cleaner look with your attention focused mostly on his chest. There'll be gaps in the upper legs, just use (any of the) gap fillers for that. Oh and obviously there's no knee articulation now, but who cares.
Ok, has anyone had any lucky getting the battle damage off this guy - specifically everywhere but the chest (where I just used a Reprolabel). The silver splotches on his legs and back are just not budging- I tried soaking them for a few mins in 91% alcohol, nothing. It took the black on his shins right off (and funny enough, NOT the battle damage mixed in with the black) but the battle damage is just not coming off at all. Any suggestions? (Could the fact that the alcohol I was using was many years old have anything to do with?)
I used 91% but had to scrub it for about an hour with q-tips. It's a VERY slow process if you don't want to damage the figure .
This thread bump prompted me to pick up and mess with this guy. You know I don’t mind the whole sci-fi space cruiser mode idea and this could have been a cool one. It’s the placement of the arms that just make no sense to me. Seems soooo many other options there would have been 100x better. So I’m stuck with fan mode placement to make this look decent. Le sigh.
