Yeah, I don’t mind the size but technically, it should be one of the biggest, not the smallest so that’s probably where the complaints come from.

I totally get what you’re saying but I disagree. This is however a problem Bandai created for SRC when they started making larger SRCs. They started muddying the purpose of the line which was originally to have a smaller scale “budget” gokin with diecast, around 5” and it was pretty consistent for a while. Until around the Brave figures when this idiocy started.

Why is J-Decker the same scale as GX-01. It starts crossing the line of what is and what isn’t an SOC (beyond transformation). If SRC is the same size as an SOC why make whole separate line? Which goes back to why I liked God Sigma so much he was a return to form for SRC and not encroaching on SOC.

But of course SOC size is a whole clusterfuck in scale unto itself. For instance why is Danguard Ace, and absolutely giant robot, an inch taller than GX-O1 and roughly half the height of a combiner?? And then why is Tryder a much smaller robot than Danguard so huge?

At least FA SOC has been in a pretty consistent scale trend thus far.

haha yeah! That’s why I just treat all super robots as super robots and don’t worry about scale. I display big combiners together, medium SOC, and then smaller SRC. All good!

Yeah scale is always fucked that’s why I prefer a “toyline scale” so they look proper together. Bandai does a decent job on combiners they all more or less look amazing together. Danguard Ace is a great release but that “size” is just so weird but I guess it looks okay with Reideen and Combattler if you want the Shogun Warriors effect.

You’re not kidding. Zambo, attention whore that he is, is always waiting in the wings. That Godzilla looks derpy as fuck. And, I’m a fan of cross-franchise battles/teamwork. I have to say that Link and Green Lion appear to be natural fits for one another.

    Ebay:
Getting the impression that Godzilla is doing a camera aside, "Looks like I got myself into quite the predicament here."...Then Great Mazinger's rocket punch pokes him in the eye. And for some reason I picture Godzilla being voiced by Joe Besser, and doing his schtick, (in the fine Hanna Barbera tradition)

Why do people do this? There's no "competition" (frankly I wouldn't participate in one if it were announced) and we're all just working with what we've got with the goal of adding to the conversation. Personally I enjoy seeing people's stuff and contributions no matter the pic quality. Please just leave me out of posts like this because it almost makes me feel guilty in a sense for taking this kind of photography.

And nice pics; which is your fav?

    ----------------------

One more of Kurojishi before it went back in the shelf. I have another for display on the way. Once I see how this looks with both modes I may just do all three.

No competition at all my friend. It's just hour pics are wonderful :thumb

Anyway, my favorite actually (houraioh still missing...) is hands down bakuryu. I think the colors, the double handed halberd and the shoulder cannons make him look like a total badass. And he's a dragon of course :D

So 0 reason to compare - That's the only point, man. Reason stated in your quoted post. And thank you.

And yea my favorite is Kurojishi but they're all pretty cool.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seems like Houraioh is the one that gets the least love being the skinny, bird mecha but it's good too and the alt. mode is awesome. Really need to do an updated article and gallery for these three because they're probably my favorite "hidden gems" of the line.

It really is, man. Nice shots.

    -----------------------------------------

Went on ahead and Got a shot of Bakuryu as well. I think I'm just going to go ahead and order dups of the other two for display as well. These were so ahead of their time. I do wish that they sold the smaller Tobikage individually though because it'd be nice to have a filler piece for each.

I’m thinking of getting those SoC Tobikage, but I’m afraid they’ll announce a R version as soon as I do, lol.
