are these the same energon cubes that came with the Transformers Collection, Universe, and Platinum Insecticons??

 

I'm pretty sure this is him, next to Hotlink.



My hunch says he shares a deco layout with Hotlink but they made it multi-tone. Dark orange and mid-gray base with creamsickle and orange sloppy sprayover. Cockpit and eyes get a very vibrant orange translucent plastic. No overspray on the legs like Hotlink. The wings will have two orange tones and a red stripe as an accent.

Well, I hope so. the colors are so desaturated in that shot, I'm surprised we can tell anything about it.

 

I'm pretty sure that's skywarp (left) and hotlink (right). You can see purple on both, with the bot having the exact same color layout as skywarp with the silver and purple. Hotlink is drowned out here by prime's lights but the patterns are fairly easy to see and they match perfectly. Both bots have purple on em as well, which is a giveaway.

 

Jeez....what a difference a paint job makes! I may have to rethink whether or not I need this one.

my god. i actually pre-ordered this because I'm stupid and wanted an officially released Pinpointer for Crosshairs. The more I see of Megs, the more I realize this is the version we should have gotten all along. This deco hangs with Earthrise prime for me as the definitive rendition of this character. He looks so friggin boss. If this is how these Netflix figures arr gonna be, I can't wait to see what they do for Earthrise, next year.

 

They will probably release a "superior" Earthrise deco of Megatron and then THAT will be the definitive version (preferably one that doesn't look like he's spunked his shorts). The problem with Megatron is that he's still on that vanishing point of perfection. Until they somehow manage to give him a robot mode that looks like it should transform into a gun and a vehicle mode that doesn't, he'll stay on the track unfortunately.

Yes, I'm serious, Siege Mirage's legs feel like they're gonna break when I transform him. The sad part is I love his alt-mode so this will keep me occupied.

 

Not gonna lie... that was lowkey my main worry, I hate translucent figures, I always feel like I'm gonna break them just by holding or posing them. Probably going to end up buying a regular Rung instead of using the cherry red one in the pack with Magnus for that same reason...

 

It's the same figure as what Walmart will be releasing.

 

I don't get super hung up on the gun mode. as a kid, i remember getting Megatron and being REALLY disappointed. His Robot mode was just egregiously bad. So, for me, I'm just looking for something that evokes that G1 cartoon look and this one gets me there. It's basically what I had wished the last Leader Megs had been.

I'm hoping Earthrise is our last tank Megs for awhile. I want a voyager of Bomber Megs and I would not hate a Generations take on his Animated look.

 

That Mirage deco just makes me want to see it representing a new character. As for that Hound, I wonder if Toyhax can make him into Rollbar or Brawn or something...
