Okay, then don't buy the figure. But the idea that this figure or ones like it is going to bankrupt Hasbro or something is...lol. ER Prime is a great figure and has been selling like crazy.

 

I can't think of many voyager primes that came with a Matrix and hands that open.

 

well if the eBay going price, the fact he is either sold out, marked up, or on back order by online retailers is any indication, the market (fans and kids) thinks it’s a good figure and the $50 is justified.

Heads up for those who use Pteraxedon with this Prime. I noticed it may be better longterm to insert the handle into the hand from the side(you'll see cut out ridges on the handle), then when in the hand port, press the handle further downwards a bit to secure the connection. Inserting the handle into rhe hands this way, decreases the amount of tension when placing the handle into the hands.

 

Hello guys, I would like to ask one particular thing that bugs me, do you have this Optimus is not even/parallel on its windshield, or just mine that has this?
I love this figure despite its price, but this one actually kinda disappointing for me. This is the only thing that I can notice from this figure unfortunately.



Aside from that annoyance, this figure is great.

working on one of these for a friend, but found a good use for some blank chrome sheets I had.

chrome under the windshield on the right, default on the left where you can still see the holes in the chest.

im not a fan of yellow eyes but that's what they requested.

 

That is some smooth paintwork around the eyes. Nice job.

hi, how do you open his windshields? i have a smudge (more of a black dot) under the windshield on mine, and it's bugging me.

 

you very, very carefully push it out from inside. The arrow shows where to push, just use a flat object and push it forward and it should pop out.

you can heat it up, as its glued. if you're not careful, you can break parts of the figure. do at your own risk!

Huh- Megatron might be on to something...


I definitely think this figure is a mixed bag.
In Siege, they put a lot of work into OP, and just barely put any work into Megatron.
For Earthrise, they did a minor retool for Megatron... but instead of doing a minor retool on Prime they put in a whole lot of work again.

Unfortunately, I think all the effort made on this was to the figure’s detriment.
What hurts this figure the most for me was that I already have Siege Optimus.
If this was a minor retool of siege that took the kibble off his arm and made the truck look like it was from earth I would have been happy.
Instead the re-engineered it, and I’m not liking the new engineering much. I hate the wheels on the back. I like Siege OP’s waist / hips and legs better.

In truck mode, I don’t like looking at the back and seeing where the arms are. I’d have been happier if they filled that in.

But I do absolutely love ER OP’s shoulders way more than Siege’s. And I do appreciate the trailer... despite its minimalism. And I like the paint.

I dunno... as possibly the last G1 Optimus I may ever get from Hasbro, I feel let down by this. I find myself hoping WJ or BMB does a ko that splices all the best parts of Siege and ER OP into 1 better figure.

Yet another “you were almost there Hasbro” moment.

yea hairdryer should be fine. just make sure what you use to push isn't sharp or you can scratch it

 

I've noticed that waist swivel is limited if you mount the drone as a jet pack for Prime. Also the drone has more resistance when plugging into the forearms.
