With the way Hasbro treats this line, we’d be lucky to get a 10 year old from TikTok.

Yep, my cat will bat around my Botbots too. Thankfully she's a good kitty and only does that if they fall on the floor-- she knows certain shelves are "off limits".

Remembering that Gosh Awful Combiners wars show with it's Youtuber Voice artists yeah.. They are that dumb to do something cheap they put in the wrong place and it makes zero impact on anyone. That is why I suggested hiring a few versatile people that way they can bring a variety of characters into it and not have to hire new talent or worry about not being able to get them again. I'm still more curious about the show format than the voice artists though, what ever it might be it's going to be comedic in tone one would assume. But would it be comic with a plot and 22 minutes long or short comic sketches in a longer show (like Animaniacs) or something 11 minutes long but with continuity to it (Like Cyberverse) They could even do VERY short bumper episodes under 2 minutes long I guess. I was thinking also what might work... is actually film in a real mall with real backgrounds and then put the Botbots on top (even if they are animation looking style) that might work if they just had a video background of a sports store or something with something going on in front of that perhaps.

Sponge Bob did that a bit I guess. If they ordered 100 eps each 5 minutes long and got it put somewhere worthwhile then it might gain some traction.

Now that I think about, they literally got a kid from vine to do Optimus Prime in Cyberverse. I don’t like the real background with animation on top look. I’d like it to be fully animated, but Hasbro has kinda been cheap with animation lately.

Most cartoons these days have a core cast of 5-10 regular characters, with a supporting cast of minor and background characters. No way would even a lavish Botbots cartoon be able to focus on any more than a small percentage of the line.

You’d probably need 10 or so actors to voice your ‘core’ cast (say, for example, the stone-cold classic characters such as Unilla, Sprinkleberry D’uhnut, Quackles, Cuddletooth etc.), and just focus on those guys, with maybe a guest appearance from some of the others on an ad-hoc basis.

In terms of potential casting I don’t really care, but it would be nice to get actual ethnic actors to play all the Hispanic / Japanese roles, rather than have people do silly fake accents. The cast should reflect the diversity of the characters themselves!

This may be a silly thought, but should we automatically assume that the characters have an accent that fits part of their theme and not another part of their theme.

For example ; Sensei Spini it's fair to imply he's Japanese in character and all those Zen rocks one could do them that way too - but why not have a California stoner Zen rock, or a Jamaican Samurai (as he's a Pineapple), It's like the Celb culture joke personalities one might want to default to LA Valley Girl accents - but why not make one of them a British It Girl instead or give them a New York accent ?

I just wonder as why jump on the first stereotype - they are supposed to be a bit wacky so casting them wacky can't always hurt.
Thought there is some I think you'd have to go ethnic for it to make sense (like the Bonzai Ninjas).

One distinct problem the franchise has is that it has so many characters ordered into teams that might range from half a dozen members to over 30 & the idea seems to be that they quite often prank each other by team.

Well if we’re looking for precedent, movie Drift speaks with a Japanese accent which befits the design of his robot mode, rather than his car mode which was European.

Besides which, when you have groups of Transformers that were specifically designed to respect an overseas culture (Hibotchi Heats, Los Deliciosos etc.) it would seem a little disrespectful to play against type and have those characters voiced by actors from outside of those cultures.

I mean, by all means make Slappyhappy an English girl, no problem (Estelle, who played Garnet in Steven Universe, would be my pick!). But Lieutenant Lo Mein, for example, would have to be played by a Chinese actor, for sure.

The vast majority of voice actors who have worked on the franchise over the past 36 years have been white guys. The toys themselves are varied and colourful, so the voice cast should be as well.

But arguing over a hypothetical cast for a cartoon that will never be made is a little silly, so I’ll just leave it there!

My idea for an ending is that the cure made from the Science Alliance didn't work and the survivors realize it was only a sugar rush instead of a run-of-the-mill zombie outbreak. They wait it out and in the next morning, the sugar rushed Botbots woke up with a a sore headache. Everything was back to normal but before the credits roll... a sugar rushed zombie jumpscares the audience!

Yeah, he was Spoony's mad scientist character. Before he split from Channel Awesome, he appeared as Dr Insano on Linkara's and Doug's show too, as well as with Lupa and Phealous. Later Linkara somehow got Spoony to give him shared rights to the character, meaning on his show, Linkara started playing Dr Insano in his storylines.

Honestly I think a Botbot show would work better if the characters didn't talk. Non-verbal comedy, like Tom & Jerry.

Or Mr. Bean, or the Minions... the other key thing IF there's actual voice acting would be to sign VA's who can do a broad range of roles and then bring in a few specialists for "uniques."

And if Coffeemus Prime isn't voiced by Peter Cullen, count me OUT.
