Oh nice. I love the the colors on the Beast Wars returns line, especially Obsidian.

 

Yeah I sort of wish if not sold them all those years ago... especially considering how much more they'd be worth now!

 

And yet people still try to say Obsidian is bigger than Strika.

 

I think I can see why, they're kind of close and the way he hovers... Obsidian is soo cool, it's something that made me squint a bit when I watched the series back around when I got the Universe 2 pack set of the generals.


I've not gone through Machines and compared the show to JimS' chart like I have with his Wars one though.

 

Nothing new just added Transmutate

 

Woah, Transmutate is big...

Now, if my TransArt Transmutate would just arrive already. He left China a month ago and still has not arrived in Canada.

 

Oh, I wasn't denying it. And it makes sense, I thought of Transmutate standing tall next to Rampage right away. It's just not something I had actually thought of before, and looking at my MP BW shelf, I'm just thinking about how big Transmutate is actually going to be when it arrives...

 

No worries man, I thought I'd better put the screen caps here. Transart Tranmutate is 29cm right? She'll be over a head taller than your MPBW Megs, and that's around Rampage/TM Megs height so she'll be in perfect scale. Given her posture and digitigrade legs you can also tweak how tall she looks.

Does Jim Sorenson have access to the original CGI models, or are these just charts made by Mainframe for internal use? Also, does that scale for Optimal Megatron look accurate to you?

 

He only posted the charts, no idea if he has the individual character models.

I don't know but I watched this video and took a few stills



When he first emerges in this form he seems the scale JimS chart shows shown in the first 2 pics. The third and fourth pics are from later, but before he absorbs all the sparks, Primal is only up to Optimal Megatrons knee. I'm not watching the full episode so I don't know if there's some reason he grew or it's just an error. I could also be misreading his size in the first two pics because of the angle/perspective.
When Optimal Megs is glowing and in the bottom right pic, he has just absorbed all the sparks and grows significantly larger.

So maybe there's 3 scales for Op Meg. 1. A more manageable size to make a figure of 2. Freaking huge 3. God like

 

There wasn't any reason he grew that large; they must have made the decision to scale him up for the intimidation factor. Other than Optimal Megatron, I think the BM scale chart is mostly accurate?

 

Most here think so, I haven't tested it by going through the whole show and freezing it every time there looks like a good scale reference like I did with beast wars though.

To me as far as I know it looks right. Apart from optimal now, and personally Ive always thought TM2 megatron looks too small. Its still tm2 megs under that cloak and compared to the other maximals, who reverted back to their pre transmetal bodies before reformatting, it doesn't feel right to me. Tm2 megs dwarfs the the S1 maximals. It was time for a refresh I guess and they didn't want to start off with the Gillian being too gawdy.

 

The most rational explanation for that would be a size increase on behalf of the Maximals.

 

It was in his TM2 body but severely weakened. He didn't display anything near the power he showed in Beast Wars 2. Granted, he didn't have the living battery of a powerful spark like G1 Megatron's giving him supplemental fuel, but he was still strong enough to break free from the energy bonds that held him on the shuttle they flew back in from prehistoric Earth to future Cybertron. Megatron using the Optimal Optimus body was stronger than Optimus Primal in his technorganic body, as we saw in the fantastic Endgame duel (which was basically Megatron hunting Optimus instead of a real fight). Cryotek's fiddling and his own self-surgeries seem to have taken their toll on Megatron's Transmetal 2 body. It was even a little smaller, and much more sickly-looking.

Size increase wasn't a real thing. They were still "Maximal" sized, which is generally a bit larger than human-scale. I compare it to humans and Halo's Spartans or the famous Predator Yatjuas, larger than humans but comparable.

 

It makes more sense for the Maximals to have been scaled up in their new technorganic bodies than it does for Megatron to suddenly shrink.

 

Is there a scale chart including BWII and Neo?

So the scene where Primal takes OP's spark.... you're talking a full on growth mutation. He like tripled in size!
