What specifically did you change?

 

size and added panels and wrecking balls from the looks of it

 

"should look like" or "what we were lead to believe he would look like"

PS I'm all in on this guy, just waiting for the last 2.... but you know its true.

 

Didn't change as much as i had intended to xD
I added the "O&K" panels, the tube things at the back, brought mixmaster's barrel panels lower, added some red bits beside his face and of course, his balls.
Oh and I used skipjack instead of rampage.

 

Honestly I’d say a 3P 9th constructicon to have sit on scavenger in combined mode to fill out those details would be perfect. All of the major lacking areas are in that space, so not making an add on figure that is able to sit there to chunk it up (and maybe add a middleman to the connection between mixmaster and scavenger to allow for more neck movement) would seem like a massive missed opportunity.

Alright then.

 

Looking back at ROTF, I just realised we barely saw Devastator. He spent all his time crawling and when we did get a full shot of his body. Now, would I be wrong if I said the image of Devastator most of us have in our heads right now are one of these four?

• The toy CGI render
• Concept art
• Red Goblin's scale chart design

Perhaps the reason he looks so weird is because we're too accustomed to an outdated (or in the case of RG, an unofficial composite) variation of his design. So by the time we saw what he really looked like, he seems inaccurate to the "idea" of Devastator we have.

 

Yes, PrimeVsPrime mentioned Devastator has this pretty boy long face, and that he needed a round face to be more movie accurate. This is because he is missing two intake-like parts, one on each side of the face, that look like cheekbones. Add that to the 3P parts wishlist.  

 

. . . why did I think SS Shockwave was a remold of SS DotM Megatron until just now? It was the reason why I planned on skipping that figure (fiddling with Megatron last night only cemented by complete disappointment with that toy)

 

I think shockwave's a remold of ss rotf megatron, cause of how the legs transform.

 

I knew Shockwave was a Megatron remold, but when I watched a review and when they did the side-by-side comparison I realized it was THAT Megatron.
I actually like the RotF/07 figures of SS Megatron so ordered Shcokwave on that.

 

Found this configuration for the Scrapmetal/Hightower combination on capcomkai’s instagram. It’s pretty solid and looks more screen accurate than the official configuration given the additional finger and shape. I imagine it’s also closer to the size of Scrapper’s arm mode as well, for an added bonus.

WTF are these for?

 

My guess it that it was molded with the intent of maybe including the actual gun for the cannon-ish mode, but they just didn’t have enough money left in the budget for it and the armatures
