I'm loving these guys. While I find them "simpler" than a lot of other 3rd party combiners, they're my favorite to transform for that reason. Also, they have a lot of personality! 20200404_093759.jpg

Agreed. This is one time I’m really glad I didn’t listen to most. He is one of my favorite 3rd party boys of the last year.

I really like this Incursus, solid figure, easy transformation in all modes. IMHO, if you set your mind up to accept the waist starts with the ab crunch, it does make a difference with the proportions.

My only real complaints is that in combine mode the arm rachets & arm connection are not strong enough. Has anyone found a way to fix this ?

I had Shockwave with my Combaticons, but this made me realize Starscream deserves to be with them more than anyone

I'm actually mixing up my botmode Combaticon team as I have Zeta's Bruticon combiner. For Swindle I'm using the UT version, which I love. I also love MMC Impetus so he's my Vortex... such a brilliant figure - if but a touch too short. I'm definately getting MMC Blastoff / Volatus and MMC Brawl / Probus for sure as they look to be the best offerings for bot and alt mode (anyone have any news on release dates for these guys? Volatus was due in Jan I think).

I just can not take Onslaught / Incursus seriously with his tiny legs.

Excuse the crude edit here but if he looked more like the version on the left (1/3 by 2/3) I would have bought this guy in an instant. Instead I doubled up on Zeta's Blitzkrieg.

The proportions they went with (1/2 by 1/2) are just far too off-putting for me - it looks like a man's body on a child's legs.

Not that I want it or need it, but I could see (another) add-on kit that gives him shoes to increase his height (like FT did for MP Grimlock back in the day). They could transform into something useful for alt or combined mode, too.

On another note, do we know how MMC are faring, did their Chinese employees and factories make it well through the crisis?
And to not make this sound too altruistic, is there a revised timeline for the remaining combiner limbs (and the alternative Azaela)?

That could happen. However I have no clue who’d make it. Since MMC won’t be making another upgrade kit. So it’d most likely be some garage style 3D printed kit.

All that would achieve is massive feet making him look even more strange... it wouldn't change the proportions of the thighs and shins. It wouldn't work. It's that green "block" that acts as his hips - it just throws it too far off for me.

There are a lot of compromises made for the all-in-one gimmick. I don't get why people complain about partsforming for combiners - every mode looks fantastic. Anyway, yes this guy does have wonky proportions and he is definitely not intended to be displayed standing straight up and down you've got to kind of hide it with an action pose.

The way I understand it it’s two main reasons:
    1. It’s boring, or some would even call it a cheat, in terms of engineering.
    2. The weight and actual movability weakens in a more drastic way. It’s kinda counterintuitive.

I just think it's more interesting when as much of the combined mode is integrated into the figures themselves as possible. I'm happy to sacrifice some aesthetics for a more interesting engineering.

Because fakeformers don't really transform into the parts of the combiner. It's cooler to know that every member of the combiner team is a funtional triple changer.

Onslaught is like that because MMC / OM haven't perfectioned the engineering for the torso bots yet... UT, TFC torso bots perfom better than this one in some aspects. Maybe their Hotspot will be different.

Actually, if you think about it, onslought feels toy inspired body wise. I'm pretty sure the digibash someone made earlier shows that. So it's weird that it's like that and they didnt go toy all the way. Since I'm so bored in quarantine, I've decided to order onslought. Well see how that turns out.:)

Oh I did that, and I've done digibashes of all the others with toy decos too.

I haven't posted them because I don't want to make people sad over something that will never be :lol

I wouldn't say that it would look entirely better, but it would be just as interesting. But loved the digibash. Shame they probably won't do it, because they already have the toy brute head, the boots, and the chest plate. All they need to do is repaint onslaught.

Yeah maybe I guess, I do tend to under estimate the ludicrous popularity of toon slavish decos. But good god would we have been able to put so much more cool details on these were they not so beholden to the animation.

Maybe a bit while after the set is done, so we don’t feel as bad. I’m sure they’re quite nice to look at, I’d love to see them.
