The right hand is just a nice bonus, use it for display or ignore it if you are strictly toon accurate only

Since I couldn't find any stands hefty enough for this figure and no one else replied on here directing me to one I made one myself. I might add another joint and maybe another piece to trap him on the stand so he can more safely lean forward. All stainless TIG welded construction. Mimics a tamashii nation's figuarts stand.

The stand gets sandwiched between the torso and the waist and uses a peg in the figure's hex hole (located square on his butt).

Man that's absolutely fantastic work. Is there any worries about the metal scratching up the finish when its placed on the stand?

Thank you. I'm sure all of us are very protective of all these expensive figures, masterpiece figures, etc., and given how easily the paint on this one chips I was very careful to deburr everything. There are no sharp edges. They're very round on the figure interface "fingers." You could let a baby play with it without worry of getting cut. So no, no worries of scratching the figure anymore than I do when doing any other ab crunch with him. Surface conditioner discs and scorch Brite were used on the edges.

Very nice, I was going to recomend a nice coat of flex seal maybe on that bracket for protection on the surface rub but it sounds like it's good. I have never been able to find anything close to good enough as far as a stand for this beast of a figure.

Is flex seal like this stuff? This was originally in the bill of material when I was conceptualizing this stand. I was thinking the same thing- need a soft coat between the stand and the figure. Maybe I'll still try this. Another layer of insurance.

I'm sure that would work just as well but this is what I was thinking about.

That is a very well executed custom stand. It’s got everything it needs, looks tough and isn’t a bulky eye-sore. Having the piece that slides in between the waist gap is a must considering how top heavy this guy is.
You already mentioned the flexible rod stand I’m using

in your initial enquiry and I’m not aware of any sturdier articulated ones so I think you now own the strongest stand in the game.

I think that may be the coolest pose I have seen for this figure. I'm gonna have to get that stand and copy this.

Cheers. Well my most epic figure demands an epic pose that encapsulates all its greatness.
If you do get the same stand then you’ll need to unscrew the little vertical, padded piece between the grabbers so you can fully slide them into Megatron’s waist gap and I’ve tilted the grabber bit upwards/back ever so slightly so he can’t slide forwards off of it. I think it’s essential to have the stand placed as close to his centre of mass as possible to fully minimise and risk of him slipping off the the stand-bar giving way under his weight.
Mine has been posed since I received the figure months ago as part of the first run and I’ve had no issues on the stand but do take the time to get everything aligned as securely as possible.

Mine would have a 6.5 foot drop to a wooden floor and I trust the stand to keep him safe. I’ve also got the tips of one blade on each side of his wings just grazing the wall behind him which stops him from wobbling at all when there’s movement in my room.
    Happy posing.

A few little bits and pieces worth mentioning...

-It turns out JX is pretty good with the updates, provided you check their Weibo page (and use a translating app if you're not a Chinese speaker). Here's the link. From the page it turns out the V2 wings being overly tight (apparently the new paint is thicker than on the V1) is a line-wide issue. As is their being loose on the hinges/front-and-back movement. So if you're getting a V2 be careful with those wings - there's a video on how to move them safely-ish (post date 15th January 2020). For us, that means you've got a choice between a less-impressive-looking V1 with greater likelihood of paint chipping upon transformation (if you can still find them), or a better-painted V2 with poorer wings.
Also, apparently their current Paid-support-only stance is because a lot of people were offloading/trying to offload their V1s for the V2.

For my V2 personally, JX' proposed fix for the floppy tail didn't really work, so my vendor has agreed to a refund, and counseled against trying for another V2. Much as I reallly really want the Pretty version, functional wings are more important IMO and the V1 is still damn purdy.
The other/first vendor still hasn't delivered on the original one I ordered, but presumably it'll come in someday.

If you're chasing a V1, I believe @dew still has some in stock here. At least, when I asked he was fairly sure they were V1 - I haven't ever found out how to tell them apart from the packaging.

Personally, I'm better with joints than paint. So if I decide to get one it'll be a V2 'cause I can fix that. But I'm still so really, really unsure...

I have not been paying much attention to this thread lately. What is wrong with the joints!?

From very limited experience (one of each), the joints on the V2 are either looser or tighter to the point of detriment, while the V1 was pretty good joint quality-wise. My V2's index finger, for example, was really stiff, to the point where moving it required a lot of care, whereas his knees and ankles required highly careful positioning to support his weight. That said, it is a heavy figure, and mine seems to have had particularly bad QC.

According to JX's Weibo (via Google Translate) though, they messed up on the wings for the V2 run, and the new paint makes the wings really, really tight where they meet the purple-pink armatures, and much looser at the forward/backwards hinged joints. So the V2s have wings that are really stiff and require very careful/specific handling to spread them outwards, and are floppy on the up-and-down/front-and-back aspect.

I hope this means that they will use more ratchets in the future... Right @JXF? Well done ratchet joints are better than friction joints imo. They maintain movement consistency over time and are more durable.
