As long at they paint his face, abs, shins, feet, blaster and missile a nice bright silver or, even better, chrome, I'm fine with "Agent Meister". They have already done their "toon" deco (save the thighs and head lamps. which was unfortunate). Time to go full "toy". Would be nice if they did the thighs in white too. It does look like the "mystery stickers" are "Martini Racing" stickers. As long as they don't pre-apply them, there is not much porshe can do.

So once I so my repaint and custom, maketoys does this... I can't even have time for not paint to dry...

I can't tell if the new downbeat has black shoulders or if it's the old dark gray... Their photo had Photoshop... So I'll wait for more photos... I like my headlights better

I missed out on the first Downbeat release, so I WANT to consider this version, but paint chipping concerns me...

I'm deciding if I wanna get the new Downbeat. I'm definitely a real world alt mode guy so this is a step in the right direction. It would be nice if his thighs were white and his tech details were molded instead of being stickers.

A Takara Jazz looks unlikely and now there's a premium price and high risk of poor materials, QC and engineering decisions to worry about.

    What to do?

I think with their martini stickers, this is the one to get. It looks better than the new fans toys

I can't get past the G1 deco on the hips and knees. The knees are probably black plastic so those could be scrapped clean but the hip would need a new blue paint job.

On a different matter - I wonder if they fixed the problem with the under side of the chest untabbing so easily.

You know.. I never tab in those shoulders and he has more articulation and the chest won't open up as a result..

Anyone else notice that the gun and shoulder missile don't look painted?

I like it better without all the stickers. The blue headlights do look better though.

How accurate is this or the previous Downbeat to the real life car? Is there another Jazz figure that gets closer to the real thing? Thanks in advance!

TNR Hova and Toyworld Jazz are both much more accurate in their Porsche Martini deco, which is a bummer because Downbeat has the best bot mode by far.

The car is more accurate, especially the headlights and rims, but the racing stripes and decals are animation accurate. He's a mixed bag that way. And proof that most people like the hybrid look: toon style bots with some added detail due to a real/toy looking vehicle mode.

Side by side. New one on the left and the original on the right.

Anyone got any suggestions for a good way to pop out the headlights on this guy? I’d like to try painting them or at least switching them out for the blue ones on Ricochet. Thanks!
