Since I passed on star convoy I\'m going to pair super megatron up  with galaxy upgrade optimus prime 

 

NuRID Optimus is about the next best thing to Star Convoy, design wise. Third would be TR Voyager Prime.

That face sculpt is really not great.

I'd agree if the robot mode wasn't so plain.

I was thinking that too, but he used the past tense, and I'd assumed it was already released.

I'm super excited for this! Never in a million years, would I see a release of this super obscure character in toy form in my lifetime!

I loved the original Star Convoy toy, but could never get him, but the updated one... if only they changed the chest windows to the proper shape, I'd buy it in a hot second. Unfortunately that was the only thing stopping me from purchasing it.

That said, I'm putting Super Megs with Galaxy upgrade Prime! Seems only fitting.

 

It would be super easy IMHO to re-release the FOC Kickback with a new head and some redecoing as a Galaman IMHO.

You and me both. I'm not sure the last time there was a Transformer that I needed. Not wanted, not interested in, plain old fashion need. The faster Pulse puts it up, the better.

That was one of the figure I actually thought about.

The weird thing is that despite having such a small fiction presence, even with such limited presence, scale isn't hard set and with the cast pretty much being only new characters and such a small cast at that, it's even harder to get any feel, really without humans it's all guesswork.

In the comic/manga, given the human sizes, Super Megatron is somewhat larger than prior versions, but not enormously so; say ~7.5 meters instead of 6. Star Convoy is several heads taller in robot mode both in some panels with Super Megatron and compared to the humans. Further complicating the issue, even though it's forced perspective with Star Convoy closer, Super Megatrons entire jet is barely a third of Star Convoys overall length in alt mode.

In the TV Magazine version, Star Convoys entire length in the foreground in truck mode is barely 3/4 of the height of Super Megatron in robot mode. Super Megatron also seems bigger against humans, though not an enormous change against the comic/manga version of Super Megatron. Star Convoy seems to be as big as he wants in robot mode, from way bigger, to the same size, to smaller.

Using Warrior/Deluxe Optimus Prime from NuRID against TR Galvatron looks like that may not be that bad for a TV Magazine scale approach while capturing both some elements of the transformation as well as alt mode. But I think it depends entirely on whatever fans want to use. I could see anyone from FOC Optimus, Star Convoy, Galaxy Upgrade OP, TR, or even some version of Siege. Just depends on what, if any, elements matter to you. Personally I think I may use Galaxy Prime if I put him up against anyone.

My OAP (lol) Galvatron's cannon broke, where it fits into the extra connector for alt mode. The shop sent me a replacement, but I never use the attachment now.

 

Not that it will make you feel better, but this was mentioned earlier. I paid about $80 for mine at release. Zero regrets. But I think $65 is more palatable for people who just want a reasonably good Star Convoy (and/or don't care about the smaller Prime figure).
