Started dusting my shelves and figures. Taking this opportunity to put siege omega in base mode and populate him. Big bugger is hanging off the shelf front and back, and his tracks aren't flush. Are his legs meant to be rotated at the hip or thigh for base mode?

Plan is to have the three bases above each other. Gonna look sweet as a nut when done.

Oh shit this is great news! Hopefully this means that they’ll get to push out their Galaxy Manus too, I was gutted to see they’d seemingly gone under before that released.

 

I just thought of something. It relates to the mold rather than Blitzwing specifically, but here goes.

About the tank mode- upon seeing it for the first time, I felt oddly drawn to it. Then I realised- despite this being a triple changer, they STILL managed to make the tank look a tiny bit like a real one. Specifically, a Churchill heavy tank.

Yep seems all teased stuff is getting released and cross dimensions/remaster are continuing

 

It's treated by the big two as essentially a gimmick or a stopgap, it seems. There's been plenty of non-forced-appearing diverse characters in both Marvel AND DC until recently when they got weirdly selfconscious about it.

I mean T'Challa, James Rhodes, John Stewart and Sam as Captain America never felt 'off' to me, yet replacing Batman with Luke Fox comes off like they're doing it for the sake of it, since he's been around for about ten minutes - especially since you know damn well it won't stick.

We had disabled characters in Alpha Flight and the Teen Titans years ago and, of course, Matt Murdock is blind - Hawkeye his been deaf too - but whenever they try to do a disabled character now it feels forced and awkward, and no matter WHAT they do Marvel cannot make Captain Marvel comics sell. Lord knows I've tried to enjoy her but there's just nothing 'real' there to get my teeth into, and they keep shifting in a desperate attempt to up sales - unlike Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, which turned out to be THE most consistently enjoyable comic that they put out in YEARS, yet they're still intent on pushing Carol.

With Carol, though - as with so many things with Marvel now - they HAVE to keep her comic going otherwise they'll lose the Captain Marvel name back to DC again, which doesn't help the quality.

The major obstacle with both Marvel and DC is editorial mandates and interference, and they pretty much thought that 'diversity' was an old old wooden ship until about half an hour ago.

It pretty much played directly into the hands of Comicsgate, as if it's serious they'll bang on and on about it and if it's a 'parody' they'll laugh and assume Marvel is on their side, BUT the people who would actually buy into those characters seriously just don't buy comics.

So I finally started reading Hachettes Definitive G1 Collection since I have some free time. Its only took me 82 issues to start them.

So, the Marvel comics are ok. The UK strips are definitely more fun. The human characters are really annoying. I assume once Furman gets full reign they disappear??

 

Yeah, thankfully. I just don't see the need for ANY human characters in Transformers media of any type. I want to watch 'Transformers', not 'Transformers And Friends'.

Budiansky liked his stories to be mostly standalones, so human characters rarely appeared for more than one or two issues at a time. They appear, go "Whaaa? The car is driving itself!!!! lol jk" and are gone by next issue. Furman tried to be more consistent with his human characters and brought them back occasionally. Buster Witwicky has a much more consistent presence when reading with the UK comics as well, while if you're boring and just read the US issues like a boring person he appears more rarely. By the time Furman became the sole writer there were fewer human characters... but he did push for his pet team of superheroes that were introduced in the comic, and they're really quite terrible.

Humans are pretty much vital in almost every Transformers story. They're the stakes for the story. The Autobots keep coming to earth time and time again because it gives them something to protect, to show they're different from the Decepticons. Without humans the two sides end up looking a lot more similar.

 

Nah, there were none in MTMTE and Cyberverse and they're my favourite two bits of TF media. I get it if you're going for the 'robots in disguise' earthmode thing but, for me, there's no need to do that anymore. It's been done.

But then I also hate the importance of companions in Nu Who - growing up I wanted to be The Doctor, not his annoying chum! The idea that we 'need' a 'relatable' figure in order to enjoy something fantastical is just playing up to the dumbed down nature of modern media.

I'll tell you what annoys me on eBay - people who put stuff up at a low price, 'allow offers' but then never entertain any offer unless its close to the price that they actually want anyway. JUST PUT IT UP FOR WHAT YOU ACTUALLY WANT AND STOP WASTING OUR TIME.

 

I'd certainly agree that's one way to do it. I think the G1 comic did it well and All Hail Megatron did it less well.

Similarly I think MTMTE/Lost Light did no humans exceedingly well and the current ongoing does it pretty poorly (18 issues in now and a lot less forgiving than I was).

Whereas I'd say Last Stand of the Wreckers and Animated season 2 and 3 show you can get a balance of humans and bots perfect.

It all depends on the creative team and their intent. And our subjective opinion of the material (Miko in Tfprime being a personal point of hatred)

Ebay has a fucking annoying habit of changing BIN auctions to allow offers without checking with the seller, especially during automatic relistings. Mega annoying.

Give sellers a break. It might not be them.

 

Nah, this guy just put up a bunch of stuff, all at low-ish prices - one comically low - with the ‘offers’ option but refused all three offers I just made, all of which were reasonable. He can whistle now as he clearly wants more than other sellers want for the same stuff. Put something up for £6 that is elsewhere for £13 and then turn down a tenner? Chancer.
