Looks like the jet mode of the Super Megatron is a reconfiguration of Galvatron\'s turret mode, while the Super Megatron tank mode looks like a reconfiguration of Galvatron\'s jet mode. Funny world, isn\'t it?

 

As Chris from RFC pointed out the face looks to turn inside the helmet from Super Megatron's to Ultra Megatron's. @The_JPIC94 pointed out that the chest looks have the engineering to fold out and turn. The cannon clearly opens to the 3 barrel cannon. The extra collar looks like it unfolds from the back and the attached photo clearly shows how the second chest hides.

 

I'm having trouble imagining how things could be otherwise....

 

It\'s basically what the TR Galvatron should\'ve been with the fusion cannon placement. Looks interesting though.

Looks like with the announcement of Super/Ultra Megatron, everyone ran to HasbroPulse and bought up Star Convoy.

 

You mean they wised up. Star Convoy is already a great figure that they shouldn’t have ignored in the first place.

 

I thought this would cost more than just 6600 yen.  I might consider picking this up. The design does look like it is made out of Lego bricks.  

 

Can\'t tell if he is silver or grey. The robot mode picture looks silver where as the vehicle mode picture seems like unpainted grey.

 

I'm assuming that gloss is just the render. Here's a pic from dengeki hobby (before you click on it for the full image) where the colors seems slightly more matte.



edit: it's still definitely more of a silver compared to the grey that we see in the altmode.

 

Looks pretty good. I just wish they retooled the legs to look more like the original drawing. Not a huge deal.

Transformers Generations Selects Star Convoy Exclusive

 

That depends on your definition of "great". It looks good in his combined larger robot mode. But the gold star is fragile and prone to breakage plus the smaller Optimus robot mode has loose legs. And the alt mode doesn't match the source material at all. I could overlook the alt mode but the QC issues were too much for me so I didn't buy. Personally, I do feel I should ignore figures that cost close to $100 that have QC issues.

All that said, I'm willing to pick up Super Megatron as long as the QC is good and the price is reasonable despite having passed on Star Convoy.

 

I feel the same, but I'm also not a fan of that mold in general, so it was an easy pass even after seeing reviews for Star Convoy.

If anything, I been wanting to get a G1 Star Convoy reissue for a while now, so I'll probably just do that one of these days.

Either way, I want Super Megatron and don't care if I have a Star Convoy to go with him or not. I will display Super Megatron anywhere.

I broke the orange peg on the weapon, literally just transforming it. I can't describe it but it both sucked and whatever as I paid 35 for it and got my money back

 

Probably, but the peg was what broke for the translucent orange and that just broke my heart. The rest of him was solid. I won't say what happened to him but I got my money back proper for it and got something else so no harm
