Shit, sorry brotha... I searched this phone, and I did check em' out, tinker with em', removed small flash around them, etc... they're all plastic, no metal except for screws.

But if I cataloged every single KO transformer I purchased in detailed review, I wouldn't have a job or family anymore! :lol

In many years to come though, that is my plan.

Paul can't warehouse a treasure of KO's that were produced once, and then gone forever... that's where we (I?) come in, to preserve the goofy grails and 1-offs that people never knew existed, and never will be seen or heard from again.

Best I can do was an unboxing shot before I got into it that night?

    Zoomed in, there they are!

Same as you, man... I'm hoping to be able to tinker like some of the masters I seen in here a while back, swapping parts and making certain characters.

An example: the green helicopter will be going to a battle gaia set... but I may have to cannibalize a legit cw onslaught and g2 version to make great cannon.

(Blue body from g1, black combiner parts from g2)

    That's gunna be a chore.

But like you said, I already have the KO's of g1 and g2 cw bruticus... they may get sacrificed for the greater good.:D

Sounds like a chore and a half. :D
    All the best, man.

Even fixing my CBB Devy to be the same standard as the original can be a hassle. I'm learning how to use epoxy bcos of that.

CBB = Cheap But Bothersome :D

Hey guys, any thoughts on the BMB KO OS Terrorcons? I know only 3 of them are out now but I'm wondering what the quality is like. They're made by the same KO company as the Dinobots right? How do they compare to Weijiang's KO OS Defensor?

On that note, did WJ ever do do OS KO of any CHUG stuff? I have their Defensor, Predaking, Hulkie (not really CHUG) and some of their Headmasters. Love their quality. Anything else I might be missing that would be worth considering? I loved the Headmasters I got that I'm now going to order the rest, so just looking if there's anything else I should include in the order :)

That's rough, dude. About 7 years ago, I was basically living on RyanCharlie's acknowledged hobby budget - taking home a little over $1000 a month working 35 hr/wk managing a video store (a pretty sweet, fun gig). I think that was technically below the poverty line, but I was never hurting for anything. Life was good.

I was more cheap and strategic about it, but I could still buy my toys pretty regularly... KO stuff from overseas, retail, from the forums, and still make rent, utilities, and my student loan payments. My partner and I have had our apartment for a long time now, so our rent is good for the local market, and we both work, so all housing expenses are split.

But... no kids and no car. That's a big difference right there. You make sacrifices to raise a family, and personal hobbies and frivolous expenses are usually the first things to go. It's worth it to provide a proper upbringing, and you do the best you can. I really respect that decision... but it's a different life with different priorities, to be sure.

Since the video store apocalypse, I've done other stuff. Got my masters degree, but then ended up working as a salaried employee in a small tech firm (which is lucky with the COVID19 crisis, because we're all still working). I'm earning more than I ever have, but still barely scraping the bottom of the "middle-class" bracket, still living in the same place, but way more disposable income. My lifestyle hasn't changed at all really - no complaints - but the difference is I'm putting away more in savings.

Bear in mind, this is all in Canadian dollars, so compared to the US dollar standard, my buying power is about 25% lower, and I pay more for retail (Deluxes & Voyagers are currently $30 & $40 here).

That said, I would never drop the kind of money a lot of guys around here do on toys. Partly out of basic frugality or propriety, but mostly just in terms of SPACE. I've been building a collection for about 20 years now, and as it grew, it became a bit more of a burden. How do I organize it? What goes in shelves or bins? Which ones do I sell off? It takes up a lot of space, both physically and mentally. One day I looked at my room full of junk, and thought "but I've always had so many different interests - do I really just want to be the Transformers guy?"

The KO scene is great right now. It makes up for how stupid expensive main line products and 3P have become, so no regrets. I enjoy most of the stuff I buy. But I still buy tactically, look for deals, save on shipping when I can...

Incidentally, since we're sharing, here's my Sirtoys tally since 2013. Less than I thought it would be... but I do buy from other sources, so overall would definitely be higher...

ALSO... Tranceblade's comment on your post was totally out-of-line. Who the hell is this person with 7 posts coming in here and mocking people for asking if there are coupon codes? That's a dick move. Get a life.

Relating to that question, I don't know of any coupon codes... just the 5% discount Paul usually attaches to orders (tallied at the checkout). My best advice is to build up an on-hold order of like... a dozen things you want, and go with EMS shipping. It's not cheap, but it doesn't jump as much as you add stuff, so with a larger order, the shipping cost-per-item tends to work out to something reasonable. Small orders suck for that.

Holy crap man $17k thats insane, must have some cool stuff for sure ... anyways , I really am sorry guys didn't mean to start a war and turn everyone against each other.. I just wanted to see some pictures of your big collections with some of your newer stuff.. I wasn't shaming or putting anyone down or at least that wasn't my intentions. I was just saying I don't know how you all find that kinda money for this kinda hobby. I personally only spend around $1000 maybe $2000 tops a year on my various collecting hobbies which include Movies, Video Games, and Toys - Mainly Transformers. When I said Prove it two pages ago I didn't mean with receipts LOL.I have no doubts in my mind at all there are way more people here better off then me income wise.. I was referring to posting pics of your collection. Sorry some of you guys took it the wrong way. The one guy posted a picture of his new arrivals soon as I had posted and then some one else made a comment about "Jesus christ man and how hes not rich but spends $1000 a month".. when I said prove it I figured he'd seen the post above where the guy posted pics and thought he would respond with some cool pics of his own. Not get into a debate about income and not about me not believing him or the previous poster...

I happen to have all 3 figures that have been released so far and they are very nice as far as quality goes and for there price. Unfortunately they are slightly smaller then the Wei-Jiang Predaking bots while in bot mode but look nice with them all together while on a shelf. The real down side is Abominus in combined mode is way way smaller then the Wei-Jiang Predaking in combined mode. Predaking is around 19in while Abominus is gonna be around 15in. I am still waiting on the other two figures to get released. There is also TFC's version which looks promising but is much more expensive at around $75 + shipping a figure..

Thanks for your opinions on those figures! I forgot they are part of a bigger combiner team (I just saw them randomly on SirToys). Maybe it'd be best to wait until they're all released and get them at once, haha.

How does the plastic quality compare to Weijiang figures? Are they the same as the BMB Dinobots? (seem slightly lower quality than WJ OS KO figures)

Utter insanity indeed. Yup, still have all of it. It's gotten ridiculous, but here we are :lol

I pretty much never sell anything KO...because there's not often much resale value. And of course it's not all KO there's also lots of the Legends stuff and the Chinese market stuff that he carries....but yeah.

It's all good man, this is a lifetime total at sirtoys, so while it's definitely more than 1K/year it's not like it's 17K a year :lol

And no kids, etc. My wife and I live a pretty simple life except for occasional fun vacations and my nasty plastic crack addiction.

Yeah the plastic quality is nice and there are even some diecast metal parts on each of the figures. I cant comment on how they compare to the Black mamba Dinobots though as I still have yet to purchase that set but those two combiners are from the same company. I wouldn't say they feel like the Wei-Jiang Predaking cause I swear that thing is "indestructible" LOL.. I have literally kicked and dropped and it has even taken a shelf dive from about 6 ft and he's still kick'n with out a scratch on him. If anything the quality reminds me of the Jinbao Bruticus for some reason if that makes any sense. . Like the plastic is light but thick and durable. Not to get you to doubt purchasing them but there have been a few people here who have had QC issues with the Blot figure where he arrives with a broken leg.. I did not have this issue thank god and I dont think you will either!!

Thanks again! And yes I completely agree with the WJ Predaking - that thing is a BEAST! It's definitely the most fun combiner I have to play around with and my kids absolutely love him. He doesn't look as great as the Jinbao stuff but he makes up for it in playability and poseability. JJ Jet Commander is a distant 2nd and then all other KO combiners way behind those 2 (WJ Computron and Defensor and BMB Volcanicus).

I have nothing to prove to a jealous little boy on the internet. I own a nice home, drive cool cars, shoot guns when time allows, have a ton of toys and I work in an blue collar industry that allows me to pay for any and everything I could ever want.

Sure no problem your totally welcome.. Also I have the Jinbao Predaking as well and that thing is a total piece of crap compared to the Wei-Jiang Predaking in every way possible!! The Jinbao Predaking wont stay combined or stand up for nothing.. He is always falling apart or leaning over till he collapses onto the shelve at which point he falls apart. Not to mention how horrible they look in bot mode with those over sized balloon heads. He may look cool in combined mode but that is about it and thats a big if ,"IF you can get him combined and hold a pose".. not sure what they were thinking when they made him when he is so crappy but there Bruticus ane Devistator are so awesome and dont have any of these issues..
