They perfomed well at the box office, that's an indication that people liked the movies and the first trilogy did better than the Bumblebee movie.

The original movies are not great, but saying they are garbage is not either.

    Complaints from who? The geewunners?

Then those people are quite dumb...

No, it's an indication that they liked the marketing. The decline since DotM trickled downwards to BB due to people disliking the films. I happen to think that some of the Bay films aren't garbage, but BB is actually the film that sparked interest in renewing the franchise. This is relatively common knowledge, but based on how you're dismissing people's arguments and calling them "geewunners," you've probably already made up your mind.

Geewunners exist and they are all over the place in here, I saw the Bumblebee's movie and I think is good with the exception of the scenes on Cybertron, the goofyness of the designs is just too much for me... That's maybe why some gee... Harcore G1 fans like the movie a lot...

Don’t get me wrong, I am a G1 fan, but I don't want that all of the transformers related media be infected with it.

That "common knowledge" you spoke about is not necesarelly true... The first trilogy still outperformed Bumblebee. But let's see what is going to happen with the new movie that will be coming soon. I bet if the movie fails, people will find a way to make Bay responsible for that too.

The same goes for the Bay movies back then.

Like it or not, that simply isn't true and just wishful thinking on your part. If Paramount really wanted to get Bay back, then they would have not let him sign a deal with Sony. Paramount and Sony are both equally doing meh numbers when it comes to the box office lately so it's not like one has leverage over the other. Also, notice how he wasn't present in any of the marketing for Bumblebee?

They can’t take Bay back, because despite this deal with Sony he’s not gone anywhere. He can and probably will work with both studios going forward, lots of producers do. Even everybody’s favourite Lorenzo flits around from a number of different studios depending on what movie he’s working on at the time.

Hollywood doesn’t really work by signing producers to exclusive deals with studios. Except in some special circumstances. You’ll note that while Bay was still a producer on Bumblebee he was also working with Netflix at the same time.

Like I said earlier doesn’t mean he won’t leave, and he’s obviously more interested in other things at the moment other than Transformers. However until you hear it from Bay himself, or the various studios he’s still involved with all the stuff he was before Sony got the first look deal.

I literally said, "since DotM," and I already explained why it outperformed BB, but I guess people just ignored my comments to support yours. Nowadays, reality is subjective, I guess. I mean, it's always the usual suspects liking anti-BB comments, so it doesn't really affect the reality of the market right now. You're right. We'll have to see in the next films how many fans BB won back over

Best of luck to Bay then. It was obvious he wanted to be done with Transformers after DOTM ended, but was dragged on to make two more TF films he didn't want to do. AoE was decent but had problems, but it wasn't until TLK where it really showed. He can make decent movies, but as long if he is working with another director which was why TF 2007 worked and ROTF didn't.
