It IS also Optimus Primal's overall S1 colors. And with the Garry Chalk connection too, that's a mighty fine fanbait repaint right there. Uhhh lemme wrack my nerdbrain get these synapses firing... G1 inner robot + dreamwave comics inner robot. Ultra Mammoth, Neo-G2 Laser Magnus, Universe Bendy Prime Repaint Magnus, perhaps a Marvel comic or 2? That's all I can think of.
Galaxy Force wasn't in continuity with Micron Legend in Japan anyway, right? As for Super Link/Energon....well, it's Super Link/Energon.
The only thing I really remember about that toy was all the weapons breaking one by one. Lost half the plug to one of the shoulder cannons so it was still useable then it broke completely. All four weapons broke the exact same way leaving the broken plugs forever trapped in their last used sockets.
What @Lovecraft said. The unarmored Magnus has red eyes. And not just the "white Optimus" version. Minimus Ambus has red eyes too.
Thanks, the inner robot slipped my mind. I was trying to picture a time where his visor was red. I agree it looks great on the inner robot.
So here's a weird thing. Decepticons eyes are red. Autobots team color is red. That's weird right? When I was playing FoC and WoC. Cons eyes red. Bot had glowing red lines all over them. And when something glowed red. Was never sure if that was good or bad. Personally. I would like eye color to reflect origins. Or class type? Red for war type, which most of the cons are. Blue for builder type, which most autobots are. BUT with alot of exceptions. So the good spirited Powerglide and the energetic but kind Warpath would be red. Construtiocns would be blue. And constructed bots could be yellow or purple. Like dinobots and techobots. Cosmos and Astrotrain and the triple chanages would need unique eyes. What's a strange color for robots? Ultra magus and star saber and the trasector-head masters maybe a blank looking eyes? Cause it's not the real bots eyes?
I prefer them having different eye colors and not just the red for the decepticons and blue for the Autobots,
I don't really care about eye colours honestly, they don't make much of a difference. At least to me.
I’m not a fan of the films so forgive me if this is not accurate but is this image not from either the films or some other fiction link to the film?
One of the Transformer TV commercial for the Stunticons and Aerialbots, Superion had blue optics. In series, his optics are red.
I don't like the blue for Bots / red for Cons color determination. I guess the animation studio thought red looked evil and blue seemed friendly. I don't think theres a need for rules regarding what color eyes a TF can have. Basing color on type like you describe is a decent way to go with it though if you want it to reflect something about the character. For head masters, I always thought they would have used some parts of their original head (including the face) and incorporate them into the suits, so they should still have color. Some parts would have to be transferred to keep their original personalities intact.
