4 new photos today. I cut away more material from the backside of the abs allowing it to be set closer to his body.

I have seen nobody say this lol. As an owner of these upgrade pieces, I even used a little force to get the DOTM ab section in. No breakage, no bending, and not brittle.
I was trying to achieve what savio-prime did above, but now we have his photos to help those who desire to "get the DOTM look" even closer to realization.
No matter where we all stand with our individual opinions and what needs improving for this guy, I love that we are being united in our common desire for accuracy!

That's nothing! Imagine being so petty that someone won't buy a figure because there's no weapon storage in bot mode!

    (Me, I'm the petty one.)

Sorry for the photo spam... Before the end of my work day I was able to bring the abs even closer in to the body.

Im still thinking he is a little bit squinting... Nobody of the transformable 3p or original figures has managed to capture the real eye gaze...

I finished transforming mine to truck mode, but had some gaps:
    20200401_204557.jpg
    20200401_204625.jpg
    20200401_204636.jpg
    20200401_204659.jpg

I didn't want to leave him like that and risk warping, so I transformed him back. Unfortunately, one of the wheels was too tight and I accidentally broke it off:

Any ideas how to fix this? I might have to just glue it back on the truck position, which would look weird for robot mode...

Most gaps are because things aren't tabbed or placed properly, you really have to take your time and analyse the figure to get a proper alt mode.

As for the break I'm really sorry that happened usually it's because joints or tabs are too tight, you may be able to glue it on the part where it broke, just make sure you don't glue the pin and you should be good

Friend, I'm sorry for my question but I have to admit that this figure is REALLY difficult and tricky to transform, are you sure that you transformed it properly with everypiece on his place?. The gaps you have aren't normal at all. Normally the commom issue on a TF figure is breaking something for a bad tabbed pieces.

That broken wheel seems to be hard to fix, but not impossible. Try to figure it out how to remove the whole red piece of the leg to fixit properly, I can recommend you to use bake soda with cyanocrilate (but you need to be veeery handly) and sand it after to give it form. To fix bigger broken pieces I use a metal pin or thin cable "molten" into the plastic, and then filled with bake soda / cianocrylate, and sometimes I give it the final coat with epoxy and paint... but all of this is a very long process to do, and the piece you have there seems to be very thin to glued it back.

On Youtube videos and their comments, there's people breaking the side mirrors.

Then don't look at ToyWorld Deluxe Bee Optimus Prime, there's no place to hide every invented weapon he has. :lol

I´m sorry for your breakage! If I remeber correctly, the same exact problem has occured to another member. He also bought the figure pretty recently so maybe it could be a QC issue of this release, because I never heard of this problem with Release 1 and 2.

Any way you'd be able to photo the ab piece and edit in some lines to show where to cut?
I'd love to follow suit! Great work as always.

Here's how I reshaped the rectangular profile.

    IMG_20200402_085854__01__01.jpg

    Shorten these 3 areas:
    • A = 0.375" length (3/8 inch)
    • B = roughly 0.23" length (15/64 inch)
    • C = 0.34" length (11/32 inch) @ 0.078" diameter (requires shaving/sanding down. I used a razor blade)
    IMG_20200402_085741__01.jpg

    Hope this helps!

In my copy one of the smokestacks broke off during the transformation back to the robot mode (olso the 3rd batch btw...). I glued it and it holds still (tho I haven't transformed him again :p ) Then I reached ShowZ where I bought it and they promised to help me with a replacement part.

Yea those breaks really suck. I'm afraid something could be off with the quality of plastic... I mean, I was following Capcom Kai's longest tutorial, very carefully, step by step and then *crack* smokestack left in my hand when I was trying to unpeg the truck...
I hope WJ will be able to provide replacements to everyone in need.

Yeah, I spent a lot of time transforming him. It took several sessions around an hour each. I wonder if part of it is due to warping when I disassembled his shoulder to fix the piece that was put in backwards...

I think for the broken wheel I'll try yanking out the pin then gluing the broken piece back together. I have some glue that surprised me by fixing a broken piece on my mpm Bumblebee, I'll see if it can fix this too. I'll also sand the hole so it's not as tight...
If the glue doesn't work I might just try tape and pushing the pin through the tape...

Edit: I tried taking out the pin today so I could glue the broken piece back together and the head broke off:
    20200403_153536.jpg
The pin now actually stays in what's left of the hole petty securely in both modes thanks to the other tabs. I glued the broken piece back together and will try it out later. I think worst case scenario is the wheel will parts form.

I had time to install the DOTM kit on my prime.
It looks quite good but I'll surely follow the way of savio-prime and try to cut the pieces a little bit. I'll also look for a new position for the headlights as I saw many different solutions on this thread.
Anyway still happy to have this kit that allows me to have the Optimus of the 3 movies in only one figure. IMG_20200405_100646.jpg IMG_20200405_100646.jpg IMG_20200405_100418.jpg IMG_20200405_100410.jpg IMG_20200405_100646.jpg IMG_20200405_100418.jpg IMG_20200405_100410.jpg

Between the smokestack break and front fender break, man it sounds like when I get to transform him it may be like trying to disarm an explosive! Not ready yet...
