Isn’t delta magnus of idw origin as a name? As a result hasbro has acknowledged him by way of idw license (the comics have a hasbro logo on them so they count), they just haven’t acknowledged him in the toyline

I know this TV line is just all repaint (some of which I might get) but I was expecting a little more. Not a lot more but just a bit more umph. Battle master looks decent and energon cubes are fine.

So what was stopping a surprise Thunderclash Cameo from blessing the show? I mean most of these replies are more negative than mine.

So to all the people who were expecting a UM repaint and feeling "MEH" about it. How would you have felt if it was a surprise quality Thunderclash retool instead?

I would've been more excited for any extensive recolor. I like the mold, but not enough to get one that's so close.

On a side note, what is everybody calling the putty? Is that the black thing covering the cubes? That looks like a leather like material to me. I'd think it's the cape from the trailer.

 

It's got fingerprints. It's putty.

 

The other problem is that it costs a *lot* of money to retool the toy molds as opposed to just giving them a new paint job.

This line is a money grab, so there aren't gonna be any retools. Just new paint jobs.

Also note the package contents. The "compound" aka play-doh is included, but no mention of a cape at all.

 

For me this wasn't disappointing that it was just Magnus, it was disappointing because the wear effects on the other figures are Brilliant and this one doesn't really live up to those standards.

The quality of the weathering gradient is nowhere near the quality of the other figures in addition major details were lost.
Just not fully executed. And a shame if his wear had looked more sideswipe, I'd have been on board.

 

Ya, it's almost like he's caked in some sort of dirt covering up all those details...

 

He just looks like he was in the oven for a bit too long. Yikes! That is not a good paint job.
I got both Chromia and Hotlink in preorder, lets keep it at that...

 

I'm getting:
Hound Look real close there are some brilliant subtle wear effects all over.
Sideswipe Thought I could avoid it, but it probably has the best wear and tear effect I've seen on a $20 toy. Sure I already have him, but it's like art.

Megatron, this is what I wanted from the get go, Shiny Megatron. The effect on his Pelvis is odd but otherwise I like this...and two excellent Battlemasters.
