I don't think any of the Takara Selects (or Hasbro Selects for that matter) have retooled the gimmick out of a figure in the course of turning it into someone else.

Star Convoy still was an EVO figure, the Seacons still combined, Super Megatron will likely still be a headmaster.

 

the gimmicks have not been entirely removed from any of the lg-ex/selects style remolds theyve done, theres no reason to think super megatron will be any different until otherwise stated

the only ones really are the seacons lacking the primemaster gimmick (sort of). turtler doesnt have a compartment for an enigma/primemaster and if im remembering right the primemasters dont fit in the new king poseidon hands (i could be mistaken as i havent tried that). but even then gulf still has his 5mm port on his combiner peg for the prime armor

 

The only reason I suggest that is Super Megatron's head seems a lot less square than any titan master head before.

 

I guess we'll find out in the next day or so whether or not he'll be a Headmaster.

 

I don't care if he's a Headmaster as long as the head is good on it's own.
I don't want some stupid helmet covering up part of an out-of-place looking robot face.

 

That's really the long and shot of it. There's no point arguing because they're going to reveal the damn thing in the blink of an eye.

 

Honestly there shouldn't be any arguing about it after the reveal, because no matter the result, half of us aren't going to be happy about it.

Sadly it'll end up like it always does here though, but at least this time we have a day or two to get ourselves prepared for possible disappointment.  

 

Please be Star Convoy\'s size, Please be Star Convoy\'s size...

As a remold/retool of TR Galvatron, it will be TR Galvatron's size (old Voyager size). The cannon does look a lot bigger than Galvatron's, though.
Expect it to be priced the same as (or close to) Turtler/Snaptrap.

 

even if he is a headmaster(which I personally think they might have omitted due to a new chest and to be accurate) he won’t Galvatron’s helmet gimmick. Galvatron was the odd man out of TR voyagers. Everyone else had something to the side of their heads for a spring gimmick. There were plenty of really good TR voyager switch good heads

 

I'm inclined to agree with tigatron2002.

BUT.

There is a .01% chance they could go the route of upscaling the mold. But the chances are slim to none.

I don\'t care if it has a helmet as long as the helmet is actually good (assuming he\'s a headmaster). I really hope that if it is a headmaster than it has a removable helmet as opposed to a flat little face cover like Galvatron does. It would probably be able to store inside of the chest. 

 

The new teaser has eyes... OMG!!! Possibly a retooled neck with head that folds into chest, hopefully no titan master gimmick?! Takara-- you sure know how to tease a collector. What am I going to do for the next 2 days...

The question is, how big will he be? It's possible Takara will simply retool Voyager class TR Galvatron, or they could upscale him to Leader class to face off against Star Convoy. Whaddya think?

 

Seeing how "Generations Selects" Star Convoy doubles as one where The Battlestars revive him with the Nova, which changes his appearance from Convoy to that, my best bet is that they will not make any changes to Super Megatron. Which has me feel that even if they use "Legends" Galvatron as a means to create the figure they will not have him be a Headmaster.

(And yes, the Legends line is part of the JG1 continuity for those planning to dispute that.)

Plus I am now wondering if they will complete this part of their line with Ultra Megatron. Because he too is a character they could make into a figure. And doing just Ultra Megatron would be as weird as the time they had his Legends appearance reveal that he was an Action Master in a "reverse Pretender" line shell.  

Then again... I am currently surprised that nobody here offered an image of what Super Megaton looks like. So here is an image of what he looks like.  ​
