What else do you suggest? The only other interest i have really is being a real estate agent. My cousin is about to be 30 and he just started doing it a year ago and is having success.

my mom wants me to work in the medical field. I have zero zero zero interest in doing that, especially when its my mom trying to force me to do it and basically saying if i do anything else shes not gonna help me pay for it.

I don’t know how much you guys “love your jobs” but i see my mom go into work always complaining about it and i just don’t want to work a job that makes me miserable, even if it makes me a little bit more money.

Anyone can feel free to doubt me on my dream, but i have not and will not ever give up on it , and I won’t stop believing in myself. Any successful person wouldn’t be where they are at now if they didn’t truly believe in themselves.

I do appreciate those who have offered true good advice over the years of me here. It really is much appreciated and has been better then anything my mom has ever told me.

Instagram is the most fucking broken social media app I'll ever use. I'm amazed something as half baked and deliberately flawed can become the one of the most popular apps in the world.

For some background, schools in my country (IDK if this is also a thing overseas) since 2018 have started introducing Instagram posts as schoolwork to be graded. So for example, when you come to a new school you have to post a picture of yourself with some corny hashtag like #imready2020! with a fill in the blank bio. Other post projects such as science demonstrations, fun facts, or sports. Anyway I had geography.

I have many bones to pick with Instagram, but this one is probably the most fucking stupid. Did you know that to put line breaks on the caption, you need to try for luck so Instrgram doesn't automatically cram your paragraphs into one? TFW2005 has better text formatting (whatever it's called) than that billion dollar POS app owned by the Zucc.

I gave up counting after the something-th caption edit and just fucked it. I figured my perfectionism (or basic sense of tidiness) isn't gonna get me extra points.

Well it's not like instaram is designed for that now is it? It really only exists for people to post pictures of things with stupid hashtags. You would be more justified directing your anger at your school for introducing such an idiotic concept for class credit. Where is your country? Cause I've never heard of anything like this in the US.

 

I'm from Indonesia. Some of my friends who never had a social media account before joined Instagram just for posting. There's even a catch to how many likes you get.

Say you make a fantastic post on your account with 50 followers. The teacher marks you well for your post, but you can't get 100 because you only got 40 likes which only awards you 5/10 points. To get all 10 points... well, let's say there's a system where the more likes you get the better scored your project is. The minimum is usually 90-100 likes. You got 89 before the deadline? Sucks to be you, 7/10!

Thankfully I have quite a bit of a following (~500) so I'd never have to worry about not meeting the treshold, but what about my friends with double-digit followers who only exist on the platform for the sake of "education"?

 

That's completely insane, any teacher doing that here would get fired for breaking safeguarding and data protection laws.

Not to mention that drilling the social media likes culture into kids is terrible and outright negligent on the part of people who are supposed to be responsible for their development.

 

I can understand a school using their own private network and platform but yea, using something like Insta is just asking for trouble.

I may not be the biggest fan of America's education system but damn. I just don't understand how anyone can think any of that is a good idea.

 

Sometimes I really miss the 90s. I think we're too self aware now and it's taken a lot of fun out of life.

 

Really annoying in life when you're the low man on the Totem pole in the family and No one listens to you.

 

So with all my classes online now and not being able to go to campus I asked a friend of mine to help me out with this one math class I am bombing and when I asked three weeks ago she that she could help me get through and tutor me. Well classes started back up yesterday and now she said she too busy to help. So now my whole plan to get through the class is screwed. Currently waiting to see if someone else can step up to the plate to help me. Math is just one of those subjects that does not click with me unless I have someone to work with one on one and helps me through the problem a few times and then I will get it. But can't really do that when the teacher won't be teaching for the rest of the semester and will just post random notes online.

I'm about ready to quit my job. They decided to change my hours starting next week and decided to wait until I was cloaking out to tell me. I really don't want to have to go in at 6 in the morning. They have already change my hours twice, but this time just frustrates me.

I really want COVID-19 gone RIGHT NOW!

 

This is not one of those professors that are exactly easy to talk to or understanding. I have tried talking to him before and did not get much of a response. You know how there are those teachers who are always willing to sit down and talk to give extra help he has not been that time. I been working with the tutoring center a lot for this class this semester but now have to work out the kinks of all that going online too.
