Please use neutral light these current photos look lit from behind. Maybe use noon sunlight.

Will these Spoiler boxes be showing up in store?

This is what I've seen transpired.

Prior to seeing more details of the contents, the listing was just named "Netflix Series - Transformers War for Cybertron Siege Unboxing"... There was a note that some spoilers were written on the box. On the front of the box, were written "Battlefield Rung" in Cybertronian (One of the spoilers). Then just prior to the Trailer being released, Walmart and several other outlets "spoiled" the contents in written format. The trailer was then released and we saw Ultra Magnus, confirming what he looks like, but nothing else pertaining to Rung, Energon, or the putty material. Now, we have Robot Kingdom, actually spoiling the contents of the Unboxing box.

Underwhelming to most, but it is what it is. Most people will just cancel their pre-order, if possible. Others will just wait for this to go on sale for lower cost. The only people that can give a definitive answer would be Hasbro.

A lot of people can't cancel because Walmart locks them in.

I've never seen that. I have cancelled items from them (this Magnus was one) and they went through without issue.

Yeah I can’t be bothered to cancel. In the current time, any transformer turning up on my doorstep is a nice break from the state of the world. I just wish it was a bit more interesting, especially since they went to the trouble of doing the special box. Very odd.

No, Hasbro set expectations. They set expectations that this would be anything remarkable whatsoever when they hid its contents and claimed it had so many paint operations.

They treated this as special, and it isn’t. They did with this set things they did not do with any of the other releases. You cannot possibly be so apologetic as to put the very reasonable expectation of “something not shitty” and subsequent disappointment on fans when we were only going off of Hasbro’s words.

Unless you want to admit that Hasbro has been so badly phoning in Generations overall lately, and this WFC subline in particular, that people should’ve expected nothing. And yet even expecting nothing I was still disappointed.

except they didnt. theres box art of magnus on the side in more or less normal (albeit washed out) colors.

con mirage really isnt because of the wfc fan vote. we already knew hasbros story for that was mirage infiltrating the decepticons to convince impactor, and the wreckers, to join the autobots

except im not an apologist, i just see this for what it is. anyone expecting anything other than dirty magnus was setting themselves up for disappointment based on the rest of the line, especially since we knew the spoilers were printed on/inside the box in cybertronian. its a typical case of this fandom not paying attention and running wild with baseless speculation (as is the habit on these forums).

That was the story for the deluxe three pack, where we had "invisible" Mirage sneaking behind enemy lines to confront a Decepticon Impactor as part of that story. Mirage flat out dressing up in cosplay as a Decepticon/possibly starting out as a 'con in the show is a really new twist just for the Netflix show.

or its just an expansion of that story (which to me is the more logical situation). remember the show is supposed to be the story of the toyline and that story aspect from the 3 pack was supposed to be a big part of the story of the toyline, so it makes sense it would be represented as a subplot in the show

I would have loved a Dirty Magnus in the same vein as Sideswipe, but that's not quite what we got here. I feel like they should have just replaced all the white with Gun Metal and some places the did but the white where it does exist seems out of place now.

In fairness, I think this is something that most brands and properties struggle with - the expectations of the hardcore fans (which is what we are). We’re always going to have higher expectations and read more into things.

This was probably something suggested on a whim on a conference call as a cute idea to maybe increase sales and/or curiosity about the Netflix show. But because they didn’t show UM at Toyfair and were sort of cagey about the whole thing, we (well I, at least) assumed it was something actually intriguing.

Very similar to the whole Unicron Kickstarter in a way. They’re simply not great at catering to their hardcore fans, the people who are on sites like this and consume every leak and piece of information. It’s not really who they’re thinking about when they do things like this.

Not sure why it would lock people. I can see on my order list from Walmart that I can cancel my Siege figures if needed. Maybe they should chat/call Customer Service.

You can do things on Walmart desktop you can't do in app. I canceled this on desktop.
