I wasn't excepting anything spectacular, but the Ultra Magnes set is really underwhelming.

Doesn't the item description mention Ultra Magnus has over 50 paint applications?

Hasbro did because even tho they said the spoilers were in the packaging, they still decided to keep Magnus' appearance a secret which led many of us to believe it would be something special. I mean what's the point of hiding just another battle damage repaint if it's not a spoiler?

I'm not asking for a reason I'm giving a response, you're saying that people set expectations for Magnus and I'm telling you it's because Hasbro made a big deal keeping his appearance a secret.

 

I'm still getting Magnus, as well as the rest of the subline. Will probably open him, but keep the rest in package. Except for Hotlink, he's going with the rest of the TetraJet Seekers.

 

I got Skywarp but also Hotlink. G1 Decepticons are short on numbers if you stick to early G1-ish designs which is why I wanted Rainmakers, etc. I'd also love Bitstream and Sunstorm.

Decepticon Mirage is at least handy because with Takara Nemesis Prime, Barricade, and the rumored Exhaust and Bugbite, there's a nice "Evil Clones of the Ark Crew" vibe. Rodimus Unicronus and a few others can fill this out. I'm actually a little MORE into the idea of Decepticon clones of the Autobots for my shelf than actual Shattered Glass because it feels like an actual G1 plot and, again, because the Decepticons are undergunned.

 

Gnurder sounds like a decepticon that transforms into an evil lawn gnome.

We don’t know what it spoils yet. Looks like Ultra Magnus might help Megatron in the show. Maybe red Rung is the spoiler?

Decepticon Mirage feels like more of a spoiler to me.

I felt the same way about Combiner Wars Magnus never getting repainted into Delta.

At least this guy is still hanging on in my collection!
