When I first started watching Transformers reviews on YouTube back in 1945 it was pretty much always Peaugh and Optibotimus, I didn't know anyone else. Nowadays I get the impression they're not as popular?

My current regulars are BSF, Ben, Paik4Life, Wotafa and Emgo. I've also recently discovered Jobby who's probably my favourite just for sheer entertainment. His humour just does it for me. The rest are all good for varying purposes.

 

Wotafa for energy and variety of figures he reviews.

Emgo for skits.

Sun of The Empire for figure reviews.

 

Time really flies.

Yea. Knerdout is a good friend simulator. I watch them too but not for reviews per se. More for the two bros hanging out shooting the $#!+ angle.

The only reviewer I watch now is Paik4Life. Much like any long term relationship, I am sick of all other reviewers and have decided it's time to "see other people." It's not them it's me.

 

Bobby Skullface when I need honesty and and third party reviews.

Thew when I need a laugh.

Emgo when I need a clear transformation video.

Ben's KOllectables when I'm curious about all the weird 4th party things out there.

 

Tydirium hanger is a reviewer I started watching recently due to his news content, but as time went by I noticed that the man has a very strong bias towards Fanstoys and the G1 stuff almost like a geewunner... So I dicided to stop watching him, not my thing...

 

As much as people hate on Emgo for being annoying

His transformation videos are one of the most helpful and useful things any reviewer does rn

Both emgo and optimbotimus's voices make me cringe but they both get to the point. I usually just skip through parts of their reviews and turn the volume down.

Thew got annoying after a few watches. Not my cup of tea.

If you hate yourself want to be talked out of buying a toy, watch BSF.

Shartimus is the worst for everything because of his annoying intro.

I trying hard to find new reviewers. Guess Larkin's Lair is okay, Chefatron is fine, Paik4life is okay. Jobby is a funny f***. Can't think of any others.

Maybe emgo is my go to just for the sheer amount of stuff he reviews.\

Unparalleled Universe, I like, but he only seems to do Marvel Legends. I won't click on any other ML reviewer.

Skullface is my go to reviewer for legit *reviews*. The man is picky, has a very high expectation of anything he spends money on and will absolutely call out every single thing a product does poorly. I don’t need someone to tell me what something does right. The expectation is everything is done right until it’s shown not to be. be it plastic quality, hardware, it’s quality-to-price ratio. These are important things that most reviewers miss.

most other reviewers tend to just ignore the bad points, gloss over them, don’t seem to care, or in general are just not very thorough with the review. Not everyone is capable of judging plastic quality in even the slightest capacity.

I don’t need to agree or even like a reviewer, I just need them to not being *irritating*. Which eliminates most of them, frankly. Some people just do not have a voice that is enjoyable.

Paik4Life is good for all the same reasons.

peaugh is generally useless as a reviewer. Guy clearly receives a figure, transforms it once, mayyyybe with instructions, then quickly films a review of it. You can not review a thing you’ve spent as little time with as possible because you want to get your reviews up as fast as possible. Plus it’s always a fun game of “what will be pop off a figure this time?”

Emgo’s “just transform it” series is great for simply seeing how a figure works.

Also, it wouldn’t hurt for a reviewer to maybe take a look at various toy lines over the years. I’ve seen people talk about a combiner wars figure like it’s some sort of high quality piece. If you’re not capable of judging materials and build quality of a product you really have no business reviewing it.

Some of the more recent ones i discovered are kato's collection-entertaining and lots of mmc stuff so that's a plus.

Paik4life-i know i know he has been there for a long time but i havent paid much attention to his channel. He is honest about the figures he reviews though even if it's from hastak.

Kuma style-he has veered away from transformers as of late and hasnt been as consistent with putting out te reviews.

Whenever I see that name, for some reason it reminds me of someone with a heavy Chinese accent saying "WTF".

 

I listed a bunch of my favorite reviewers in a previous post but I want to give a quick shoutout to Ultra Magnum. He’s relatively new but I absolutely love his reviews. He covers points that other reviewers gloss over (like comparing the stability of all 3 Motormaster’s feet) and grades figures in categories that are intuitive and practical. He’s well articulated and I really hope he continues to make more reviews. Cheers!
