The upside is that I was able to compare a RotF Megatron Studio Series and a Leader Ultra Magnus at Target a few weeks back and I'm confident the cloth accessory will work.

I was surprised they didn't just copy it.

 

Where r the diaclone n shining magnus repaints??? Is takara holding them back? Seems like a no brainer to give the fans a chance at those e hobby palettes

 

Considering the fact this is not a movie line and the amount of gamesworkshop grey on magnus... I wonder if this is supposed to be him fighting some big battle as he dies... Kinda like beast wars dinobot... but rushed and not nearly as impactful or memorable.

 

Shining Piss Ultra Magnus is very niche, even in this community. I doubt that's even on Hasbro's radar. (But I won't say never.)

Delta Magnus, however, has been a drumbeat for awhile now. Hopefully, they get their act together for a Selects release.

 

I'll wait for this to hit clearance and make my own Delta Magnus.

 

I'm beginning to think I'm the only one that quite enjoys the contents as a whole.

 

Wow, I pre-ordered them all together I'm definitely having second thoughts about that Magnus. Strange I mostly like what they did with every other figure....

Let me look at this logically.

So Magnus has less than convincing weathering in main bot mode, unlike his wavemates who tend to have very professional inspired weathering.

- Some of the weathering looks odd
- Black stacks are unusual


- Probably the most unusual look for Magnus. But I kind of like it. Finally some knuckle scrapes.




+ Truck mode actually looks a lot better with the addition of Gray.





Wow Rung looks plain awesome



There is a nice contrast here.

Overall....I'm kinda feeling it.
The vehicle mode looks great. Both bot modes are devisive to say the least.

 

So uh
How is this Magnus a spoiler, exactly?
Was it just a marketing gimmick to get people interested in an expensive Leader toy?

Oh wait, yeah, that's obviously what it was.

 

Soo he's the same thing that came out 2 or 3 years a go. Just with some what of a new look & $20 then be for. Pass....

 

I mean, the whole line is repaints... not sure why you'd expect a different figure.

And Siege Magnus was $50, and Rung was $6. With the Energon cubes thrown in $60 isn't really unreasonable for a store exclusive.

 

Full disclosure, I was never in for siege Magnus in any flavour as I'm sticking with CW Ambus Mags BUT if they'd carried over the "Energon Infusion" with Spoiler Mags and swapped out his clear blue for transclearant pink too then I reckon a 1000 customisers, myself among them, would be kicking down doors to nab him for a Thunderclash custom!
I'll be doubly disappointed if Mags actually gets Energon Infused in the show and they didn't do it here.

 

This feels really unnecessary to be honest. The paint job looks... really bad. His entire crotch and most of his legs are gray, and that stops abruptly at his chest. It\'s just way too much. I\'m not really sure what the translucent Rung is for, translucent figures are cool but not really needed. The only part that actually interests me are the energon cubes, so this set is a pretty easy pass. Unfortunately most of this Netflix line is an easy pass, the only ones really interesting are Hotlink and maybe Scrapface, since he\'s a new character. Maybe Megatron too since his deco actually looks really nice. I can\'t really figure out what the goal of this line is from a marketing perspective, I get that it\'s meant to coincide with the Netflix show, but most of the people who would buy these already have them in slightly different colors, and most people probably won\'t double dip.

 

Particularly with Delta Magnus also being the model for Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus, I was honestly expecting a Rodimus Unicronus thing here since Rodimus Unicronus would pair well.

 

I can't be the only one that was hoping he'd be a Diaclone inspired repaint :/

 

Dude, it's not weathering.

He's covered in the grey compound from digging out energon cubes. Why is this so hard to understand?

 

Just to help myself visualize the differences. After a few hours to process, dirty Magnus is growing on me more.

 

This is just ugly...

Amd that spoiler warning was just a hype that got me.... quite let down   this line stinks... they shudve just relaunched all these figs without the damage n weathering instead IMO

 

Whoa where is this detail coming from?

 

The colors and in alt mode for a bunch of the dudes the colors line up more like they drove through it like mud splatters

 

...it's Ultra Magnus again!
