Sampled a bit of the Bravely Default 2 Demo. The note in the beginning stated that the demo ‘s difficulty is set higher, but damn, the demo is hard!! So I spent some time trying to decide on job combos and which character got what. I never got too far before starting...

The demo for Trials of Mana. And right at the start I’m faced with deciding on a main character and two companions from six choices. I also find out the beginning of the game is different depending on your choice for your main character. So I might play the demo six times! Haha

There are also certain character pairings that overlap story wise like Riesez and Hawkeye.

    Thanks, I'll try it later.
Also Witch Hazel treats skin conditions and is good at removing dirt.

Just found this out the hard way. Almost pulled the trigger on one through an Amazon shop for $500, which included tax and free shipping but I couldn't do it. My brother talked me out of it, plus I really don't like the idea of it sitting on my porch until I get home under the current circumstances. Even the prices on refurbs on ebay are more than the retail price.

No console is worth more than its retail price so backing out was wise IMO.

I take as much stock in these rumors as I do Star Fox Grand Prix.

I don't know, it's rare that Eurogamer, VCG, and Venturebeat all use language as strong as "confirmed" and "corroborated" for the same rumor. Especially Eurogamer, they're fairly reputable and that's a big limb for them to go out on so confidently imo. Taking with grain of salt, but this has more of a ring of truth than many others. Would also serve as an excellent fallback/stopgap if my suspicion that they are having unanticipated development delays for what they hoped would be their other major first party releases this year outside of Animal Crossing and Pokemon DLC. When in trouble, fall back on Mario lol. Can't really lose doing that.

I think the big Mario news might have been why Nintendo has been quiet about 1st party stuff. If they are putting that much into Mario's 35th that might have become their primary focus for the year.

I would have to be skeptical of that being their intentional primary focus. There are several already announced, strongly teased/advertised major IPs in the pipeline that I have no doubt they wanted to see more progress on by now. MP4 getting scrapped and restarted, Bayo 3 getting a teaser more than two years ago now then absolute silence, BotW sequel tease is nearly a year old, they've had three years to work on it in an already established engine and asset pool, and E3 is canceled, etc.

The last thing they want right now imo is for the stereotype that Nintendo is just a Mario and port company (which isn't true obviously, but is still a stigma that exists unfortunately) to become validated. They definitely want bigger hitters sometime this year, no matter how much we may all continue to love Mario's legacy games and no matter how well remasters of some of those titles will no doubt do. Focusing solely or even primarily on Mario isn't a strong strategy, unless it's an entirely new Mario game ala a proper followup to Odyssey. Failing that, imo this is a stop gap measure, much like the Year of Luigi was on Wii U. It's an anniversary year so they can play it up. Probably until Holiday 2020, when we will finally see some of their other heavy hitters land. (Probably with an announcement in the Summer, when E3 would traditionally happened had it not been canceled.)

The other reason I continue to suspect development delays, is that we still haven't had a proper Direct. This is the first time since Directs began that we have not had a "full fat" Nintendo Direct in either November, December, January, or February. It's completely unprecedented (and no, a mini Direct doesn't count in terms of the precedent now set.) I think they were having issues, and struggled to even have enough to put together a mini Direct to their satisfaction. And I think these ports and the new Paper Mario, if true, were something they had on the backburner for a long time and had planned to pepper in here and there when things got lean... which they now decidedly are on the first party front. So they're making it into an anniversary celebration to justify the single minded focus on Mario for most of 2020.

This is all just speculation of course, we have no way of knowing. But I think something like that is likely to be going on, and that's before we even factor in the massive disruption to business that COVID-19 is no doubt having even for Nintendo. That's only going to exacerbate what if any issues they're having.

I don't think those rumours are particularly unreasonable, Nintendo and nVidia are already selling a HD emulated version of Galaxy in China on a Tegra-based system and if the emulator is good enough then they should be able to drop Sunshine into it as well. Not actual remasters, but I don't think allot of the target audience are going to know the difference or be bothered either way.

Mario 3D World coming out on Switch is a given with all the Wii U ports, I expect they've just left it towards the back of the queue to keep it as far away from Odyssey's release as possible.

Paper Mario is one of the easier and quicker first party IPs for them to knock out a new game for, especially when they've already got the assets from the last one to work with.

Calling bullshit on the Mario remasters. Nintendo's track record of remaking games or giving them an HD remaster is spotty at best and erratic at worst. The "fact" that Nintendo would go through all the trouble of remastering most of Mario's 3D adventures for the Switch and re-release them all in one year is a dead giveaway.

Besides, we're only a couple of days away from April Fool's Day.

@RabidYak ^ Exactly. That's also why I think this isn't a planned big push, but something they've kind of had in reserve to sprinkle in at opportune times. They like to pepper in ports, not make them the general primary thrust of an entire year. But if this rumor is to be believed, it may be the primary focus for the rest of the year until Q4. Which, coupled with the continued lack of a proper Direct, makes me suspect unexpected delays.

And Re: remaster as a label... honestly I wouldn't be surprised to just see an upscale of some of the games, frankly. Galaxy being the only one that might require some actual tweaking.

Gamexplain talks about the Mario rumor.

You can play the new stuff without beating the game.

If it was just one source I'd expect April Fools but the fact another chimed makes me think something is coming. But who knows it could be an AF and other source decided to piggyback instead of doing their own.

Honestly, I'm just confused as to why Europe always seems to get better stuff than the US does.

Heck, I'd be happy if they added the soundtrack that Europe is getting (as long as its not on a flash drive like with XCX).

As nice as the graphics are this time around, I'd really like if they could have taken more time to not make characters look a bit flat with their designs.

Honestly, while I have already beaten the game (went back and finished it while playing XC2), I'm going to wait until I beat the game again before do Future Connected.

Also, found out about this which disappoints me: Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition Won't Include New 3DS Features
